Cillian Murphy’s eyes. AIBU to be mesmerised.

It’s a quiet evening here, DH is away, DS is gaming.

Cillian Murphy reels are popping up on SM posts

AIBU to be totally mesmerised every time I watch a reel/photo of him. His eyes are so beautiful 😍 they are such a stunning colour too and he has deep sockets which seem to emphasise their beauty!

I have heavy hooded (not because I’m old, I am old but they’ve always been this way) hazel eyes and I’m totally envious of his features!

Yeah, I’m not seeing this, either. It’s a tourist myth. I was in Sligo with a friend years ago, and the visiting Americans (we were at the Yeats summer school) were all over my dark-haired, blue-eyed friend with her ‘gorgeous Irish looks’.

Except I was the Irish one (ordinary-looking, brown-haired, greyish-blue eyes). She was from Scunthorpe, with no Irish ancestry whatsoever that she knew of.

CM stands out as unusual-looking in Ireland, too. In the flesh the main thing that comes across is that he’s very slight and very pale-skinned. With giant, pale eyes. More Gollum than sexpot, to be honest, if that doesn’t sound bitchy…? Excellent skin, though.

The other thing you’d notice is that thing nearly all actors have — a kind of way of holding themselves?

He's got a stillness about him. Doesn't even blink that much. Adds to his intense air.

Maybe Irish people are immune to other Irish people’s charms up to a point?

Si don’t get Paul Mescal either (I swear I went out with guys who were the head off him in my teens), and Jamie Dornan just looks like a nice, dimply County Down lad who’d remember your birthday and not leave the loo seat up. I can no more see him as Christian ‘Fifty Shades’ Whatsit than I could see Daniel O’Donnell playing a billionaire BDSM festishist. 😀

I know nothing about it tbh, i heard 'violence' and said no thanks. I just can't watch scary stuff. I was watching kids stuff with my 11 y/o and freaking out! But CM has lovely eyes i think. And seems like a decent fella.

You’re missing out (although understandable if you don’t like violence)!

Outstanding acting (imo) from all the cast and of course it’s where my admiration of CM began.

That’s exactly it.

Not just him, though, I think a lot of actors have it. I remember years back walking into the RSC next to someone who was short, thin, bald and ordinary-looking, but thinking ‘That’s an actor’ because of the way he held himself, and only realising later it was Finbar Lynch (married to Niamh Cusack, who was playing Lady Macbeth).

Still not seeing it. He just looks like every GAAhead in O’Nell’s shorts from my schooldays. Bit of a lad, always off to training with a hurley and a manky sports bag, secretly sensitive.

Indeed, there's a young lad working in Knock airport who is the spit of Paul Meschal only better looking and no one paying him a blind bit of attention. (Apart from me obviously)..

His eyes are beautiful but I don't really fancy him. I'm fascinated by how he stays looking so young and has that calmness about him that's intriguing.
Whereas Jamie Dornan is bloody gorgeous and comes across as a thoroughly lovely bloke from interviews that I've seen.

Amused by Eddie Redmayne’s “bloodless lips” totally agree, that oddly dusty quality, some very fair people get that when they spend too much time in the sun.
I don’t see it in CM though.

I had a message a few days ago from someone claiming to be the beautiful Mr Murphy. I mean why wouldn't he message a 52 year old married woman from Scotland !!!!
