Article in daily mail seems random at first glance and full of comments asking so what etc but isn’t their a rumour that Prince William had an affair with this woman?!

Kate Middleton 'went to music festival' with her friend Rose Hanbury

The Princess of Wales, 41, is understood to have made her first ever visit to a music festival at the weekend, albeit a very upper-class one at Houghton Hall in Norfolk.

I don't believe PW would have an affair for multiple reasons:

  1. They obviously get on well and seem a happy couple, loads of off duty snaps published on the web.
  2. Even if they didn't, PW would not risk his popularity by having an affair, he is old enough to have been aware of the public reaction to his DF's behaviour.
  3. I don't think he would be so cruel to hurt and embarrass Kate and his children, knowing what his father's affair did to him, his brother and their mum.
  4. If he were to cheat on Kate, I reckon Carole would rip his balls off!

Tell that to the those on the relationship board who could have sworn that their loyal, upstanding, dh would never cheat on them, until he did
I wouldn’t even vouch for my own lovely dh let alone a member of the RF where cheating is almost compulsory

goodbyestranger · 15/08/2023 17:08

It’s not that they are going clubbing separately - lots of couples do that - but more that they’re making a public statement of this

Well there's a seemingly superfluous bit about William not being there because he was possibly away on a grouse shoot no-one knows but isn't the hugely laboured point of the article about how friendly Kate is with Rose and about how the husband being demoted is absolutely standard after a monarch dies - nothing to be seen here etc. The whole article is bizarre and it's certainly not about whether Kate popped into an event. The labouring of the friendship is very clumsy. That's why I assumed it was someone very inexperienced who suggested it. It's a terrible idea and suggests affair and attempt to hide far more than the opposite.

Looks like the music festival featured a big tent, I imagine they had some trouble pegging it.

🫢😈

I don’t like turnips. Norfolk set is much better 😉

Seems you don’t know what a fishwife is and of course you know all about their situation. Pull the other one.

goodbyestranger · 15/08/2023 21:56

I know exactly what a fishwife is. I'm not a fishwife. I have to say that the fishwife in the coastal village I lived in for over forty years was (indeed is) absolutely lovely: funny, clever, decent. But I'm also aware that you're using the term in a snide way and I'm certainly none of the things which the term fishwife denotes when used in that way. Not clear how you conclude that I don't know what a fishwife is. I'm even less clear why you assume no-one who posts on MN can possibly know people in rl who may know stuff about this couple.... That's just a nonsense.

FeelingHelpless99 · 15/08/2023 22:35

On the one hand, some of HRH The King’s unelected subjects have some harmless gossip about the stories the Royals themselves feed into the tabloids.

On the other, you have the HLM the Queen changing legislation to suit her estates, King Charles accepting money in a suitcase from Saudi sheikh, Prince Andrew doing all his dodgy deals as a ‘trade envoy’ and avoid paedophilia lawsuits, Peter Windsor trading on the family name with dodgy advertising in China (plus Zara plus the Duchess of York), Prince William seemingly nothing more than a boring bald geezer in a suit condemned to a life awful beyond words, Camilla complicit with the tabloids and her nephew providing “concierge services” for Putin’s cronies….

…. relatively speaking, us fishwives are on the side of the angels here.

Wouldn’t you? Wasn’t it him who said “ Why go out for hamburger when you’ve got fillet steak at home”?

Newman said that, but spent his time balls deep in Hamburgers on a regular basis!

^ this!!!

2.Many children of marriages tainted by infidelity have affairs themselves.

  1. Is this the Carole who, after William dumped her daughter and chased another woman invited him to her home to ' reconcile' with her?

@Lampzade

  • • They obviously get on well and seem a happy couple, loads of off duty snaps published on the web. • Even if they didn't, PW would not risk his popularity by having an affair, he is old enough to have been aware of the public reaction to his DF's behaviour. • I don't think he would be so cruel to hurt and embarrass Kate and his children, knowing what his father's affair did to him, his brother and their mum. • If he were to cheat on Kate, I reckon Carole would rip his balls off!*

You sound so naive! You've obviously not been around long enough to know that men in good marriages can and do cheat despite knowing that it will cause devastation. They're also more likely to cheat if their parents had affairs.

Arrogance and ego are typical cheater traits and these are what William has in spades.

@ThePoetsWife You have misquoted me. In fact I agree with your views

LadyEloise1 · 16/08/2023 09:05

Though he had steak at home, Paul Newman couldn't resist the hamburgers apparently. ☹️

FeelingHelpless99 · 16/08/2023 09:18

I know it’s just a metaphor, but there’s something I don’t like about the steak / hamburger analogy being applied to women.

It’s grim because women aren’t meat or to be consumed. Also who wants to stick their dick into a hamburger or a steak, the grease burns would be appalling.

BingoBastards · 16/08/2023 09:38

I didn't know that about Paul Newman

It’s a metaphor, ie not meant to be taken literally 🙄

Thank you for explaining that it is a metaphor and what a metaphor is, I am but a simpleton who has never before encountered language. 🙄 to you with knobs on and no returns

CoffeeCantata · 16/08/2023 10:23

Oh God! The bitchery and sheer lip-smacking enjoyment at someone else's possible misery.

This story was invented by the vicious toe-rag Giles Coren - he openly admitted it. Why, why and why are people still giving it credence?

I suspect because they are nasty and spiteful and would like it to be true.

It isn't - sorry!

RitzyMcFitzy · 16/08/2023 10:35

Paul Newman was still married to his first wife when he started up with Joanne Woodward so I'm never sure why he's held up as an example of fidelity.

Love you though, Paul. You'll always be the most handsome 😘

goodbyestranger · 16/08/2023 10:54

CoffeeCantata there's no bitchiness here. Show me.

Also Giles Coren hasn't said he 'invented' any story. He said he repeated gossip that's all. Very different. The reason there was gossip is because William cheating with Rose Hanbury was prime gossip material among their social circle. Gossip is frequently absolutely true but people who don't want to believe what's being said dismiss this passing on of info as 'mere gossip'.
