Article in daily mail seems random at first glance and full of comments asking so what etc but isn’t their a rumour that Prince William had an affair with this woman?!

Kate Middleton 'went to music festival' with her friend Rose Hanbury

Kate Middleton 'went to music festival' with her friend Rose Hanbury

The Princess of Wales, 41, is understood to have made her first ever visit to a music festival at the weekend, albeit a very upper-class one at Houghton Hall in Norfolk.

Someone who I know that works in the palace said it did happen years ago!!

🙄

I’ve just posted about this on the royal board

tabloids always nearly tell you something when they’re not allowed to run the real story. Given this is a total non story but there are lots of comments throughout then I’m quite sure they are trying to tell us something about their relationship

Agree!

Jumbojade · 15/08/2023 00:58

porridgeisbae · 14/08/2023 21:28

The affair never happened.

It did happen, my mum knew someone local to where it happened/happens and it was common knowledge locally.

Was it in a field behind a pub?

Viviennemary · 15/08/2023 01:08

So just shows what nonsense that silly rumour was.

SemperIdem · 15/08/2023 01:11

Namechangey23 · 14/08/2023 22:44

Then why did the then Prince Charles keep going back for Camburger when he had steak Diane at home?

Because he never wanted to marry Diana, was forced to do so

TiredRetired · 15/08/2023 01:22

So William went out alone clubbing in June but his wife waited til August to go out on her own as some sort of revenge??? Apparently it was in secret but some body has told the papers it seems.
WTF. Is this actually news? The article is full of pictures from 2016

I don't believe PW would have an affair for multiple reasons:

  1. They obviously get on well and seem a happy couple, loads of off duty snaps published on the web.
  2. Even if they didn't, PW would not risk his popularity by having an affair, he is old enough to have been aware of the public reaction to his DF's behaviour.
  3. I don't think he would be so cruel to hurt and embarrass Kate and his children, knowing what his father's affair did to him, his brother and their mum.
  4. If he were to cheat on Kate, I reckon Carole would rip his balls off!

They are all pathetic reasons not to cheat. Firstly, even the most happiest couples on the media/photos that are deliberately done fo show the masses an image doesn't mean a happy marriage.

No.4 they are Elltes not local chaos down the local estate. Carole will keep her nose out of this.

Moonsun88 · 15/08/2023 06:29

I meant pathetic reasons not to cheat for a who gets everything he wants.

CurlewKate · 15/08/2023 08:06

"Well you know what these upper classes are like. They're the ones with the Pampas grass in the front garden, so it's not impossible"

"Pampas grass?" "Front garden?" Surely not.<shudder>

Popsicle42 · 15/08/2023 08:20

Isn’t the super-injunction banning media in this country reporting on the affair due to end in the next month or so? I assume that’s why this article has come out. I suspect there will be a flurry of similar ones in the next few weeks.

The rumour I had heard is that the fight between W and H was because H was standing up for Kate and calling out W on his behaviour. No idea if any of it is true, but if it is, one can better understand why Harry felt so angry and hurt at the lack of support from the RF.

OhmygodDont · 15/08/2023 08:43

A super injunction wouldn’t stop other countries reporting it and so far all that’s ever been is mere gossip.

It’s like people really really want William to be a cheater. Bizarre.

Are you not mortally embarrassed to have posted that?

To be fair to the poster, I did know a woman that used to visit my mum, she used to work in the kitchen and serve also at one of the palaces, she said William and Harry were two horrible little brats and would remind people of their place from as soon as they could speak, she also said Diana was an utter snob.

Reckon she probably wouldn't.

goodbyestranger · 15/08/2023 09:34

No, people have known of the story of alleged affair for years. That doesn't mean it happened. I dont believe it for a minute

I typed correctly Kinneddar. The Norfolk set have known about the affair for years. I don't think you not believing it will undo the fact. Obviously your prerogative though.

And please can you not get into the silly stuff about ooh were they in the bedroom with Rose and William. When a couple are having a long term affair their close friends know and then the slightly wider social circle gets to know. Rose and William are not immune from the usual way these things become known by a circle of friends and aquaintances.

@RitzyMcFitzy I thought exactly the same as you when I saw that comment.

Kinneddar · 15/08/2023 09:47

I think you'll find I've never said anything so stupid as that.

And yes it is my perogative not to believe something which is still nothing more than gossip 'The Norfolk Set' (whoever the fuck they are) allegedly knowing - still doesn't mean its true. I'm sure they're just as capable of making up or exaggerating as anyone else. Giving them a fancy pretentious title doesn't make them credible

If nothing else I dont believe for a minute Pippa, who's very close to Kate, would call her daughter Rose if it was true. You'd need to be a special kind of nasty to do something like that

Frisbeeee · 15/08/2023 09:51

Statistically speaking it would be odd if he didn't have a mistress being a Royal male heir. I'm sure Kate and her family would have expected this situation surely and accepted it as part of the deal.

I remember watching a documentary about the women who Charles had affairs with and one of their husbands said on camera that he felt it was an honour as Charles was 'the future King of England' and it was 'his duty to stand aside and let it happen' (boak 🤢). They really are a different breed.

KimberleyClark · 15/08/2023 09:53

Moonsun88 · 14/08/2023 20:38

I know, I was joking, but I thought it was a tradition for the Elite Royals to have a mistress 😆

It’s tradition throughout the aristocracy once they’ve produced the heir and spare.

goodbyestranger · 15/08/2023 09:59

Kinneddar a number of previous threads have contained posts saying ooh etc.

I used the term Norfolk set because it's a bog standard term. Hardly a fancy title. I personally vastly prefer the term Turnip Toffs (obviously my prerogative :)) but you know, didn't want to get sat on for being offensive or confusing etc.

Norfolk set = people living in Norfolk who go to supper with each other, shoot together, hang out together. All are extremely well off. They all knew theri was an issue very fast if only because Kate insisted that Rose was cancelled off all invite lists.

goodbyestranger · 15/08/2023 10:00

*theri there

goodbyestranger · 15/08/2023 10:01

The Rose Matthews thing is an absolute red herring - means zilch.

Again that's your perogative to think so. I completely disagree.

Of all the names in the world, you'd need to be a total bitch to name your child the same as the person your BIL was having an affair with. IF the story was true then clearly W&K have got past it. The last thing they would need is a reminder forever more when they see their niece. The Middletons are a close family. There's no way Pippa would do that to her sister

Can you imagine if someone posted on here that their sister had done that. Noone would think it was appropriate & the general consensus would be to go NC

A friend of mine is is a true royalist, claimed that she knew a lady who worked in the Palace office, and William has a terrible temper, far worse then Charlie. God knows if it's true but she believed it.

I want to know what makes a music festival upper class. Is it just very expensive - but aren’t they all? - or is it invitation only?

Real flushing loos?
