It has been alleged that the affair rumour started a bit closer to home. No fan of the monarchy but that is absolutely horrendous if true although makes sense in regards to later developments.

Claiming pegging was involved as well for maximum humiliation. How could anyone know that? Are we expected to believe his high society family friend affair partner blabbed about his proclivity for a strap on up the butt! I thought they were discreet in those circles.

I couldn’t imagine how I’d deal with it if someone close to me started a rumour like that and I’m not even a globally known future King. I think I might push them into a dog bowl at the very least though!

life is boring at times people have always gossiped and enjoyed hearing secrets I’m always fascinated how rumours got around

if you are not interested why open the thread it’s quite clear this wasn’t about anything other that the alleged affair

Well considering that the rumour didn't start with Giles Coren but from an article written by Dan Wootton, the idea that it was started by H&M fans is bullcrap and stinks of deflection. The kind of convenient deflection that would serve to divert attention from a married man having intimate dinners with his wife's "friend".

I don't believe PW would have an affair for multiple reasons:

They obviously get on well and seem a happy couple, loads of off duty snaps published on the web.
Even if they didn't, PW would not risk his popularity by having an affair, he is old enough to have been aware of the public reaction to his DF's behaviour.
I don't think he would be so cruel to hurt and embarrass Kate and his children, knowing what his father's affair did to him, his brother and their mum.
If he were to cheat on Kate, I reckon Carole would rip his balls off!

Attempting to and not succeeding. They tried a few Christmas's ago with Rose Hanbury being dragged along to the church at Sandringham looking as miserable and not on board as could be. This smacks of a fourth rate summer intern in the PR dept doing a terrible job. People have known for years that this affair happened - so this is a terrible idea, and is based on the premise that the public are stupid enough to be taken in. It's quite funny thought that they're trying to paper over the cracks in such a supremely gauche way. Seems like they're worried....

I didn't clock it was a DM link.

But the prospect of Kate 'dining without William' at Rose Hanbury's house and then deciding to go to the music festival as a spontaneous decision with her security is somewhat unlikely.

I have zero idea about their private lives, but the spin on this - and the timing - is weird. I suspect this is damage limitation of SOME kind, but it might well remain below the radar. As it should, frankly.
