Been trying for TOO FUCKING CUNTING long to create an autopay account.

Apparently even shit like thsi: 5e%1A!2b"4D$5e%2b"3C£ does not meet the password security requirements😡😡😡😡😡

AIBU to think if they want to rob us of our money we shouldn't have to jump through fucking hoops to fucking give it to them????

Oh it gets worse, I'm fighting them at the moment because despite me setting up autopay they have decided I DIDN'T and are now trying to take me to court! Couldn't even make representations online because of constant fucking 404 screens, 800 phone calls later I was no further.

I don't mind paying! I WANT TO PAY! JUST DONT TELL ME I'VE SET UP AUTOPAY WHEN CLEARLY IT'S NOT WORKED. AGAIN! ARGH!

I know someone else this has happened to.

He sent evidence he paid.

Court has told him they received his evidence from ULEZ and ULEZ claiming he hasn’t responded.

I've no problem paying, I've no problem owing up when I've messed something up. I have a huge problem with being charged over £300 because I refuse to accept someone else's* *balls up.

Exhausting!

We had similar attempted theft. I went into London in DH’s car. Logged into my autopay account the night before and added his car. No issues. Got a PCN. Eh?! I W ent back online to check, and my autopay account had been closed. When I called them, they swore black was blue that I’d only added his car to a “vehicle management list”, not autopay. On my closed autopay account. Grr!

This gave me second hand rage.

It sounds like you struggle with technology quite a bit. Could you get a tech savvy friend or colleague to help you setting up a simple auto pay account ?

I really don't, I work with metadata and databases all day long.

If I pay manually and the vehicle was added to my account previously - which I can't check as I can't get into it - will I pay twice?

For anyone else having trouble, I found this on Twitter, tried the password without a special character and I'm in.

It would be laughable if it wasn't just fucking pathetic. All that money and they can't set up a decent system.

There is very definitely something iffy going on with this shit. They are deliberately trying to fuck people up.

I confirmed with their webchat that I need to pay manually for yesterday, even though I now have autopay. So I clicked back to the payment page, and got an error message, I shut the whole thing down, googled and clicked the payment page and got the same thing.

I opened an igcognito page, googled pay ULEZ, the page opened up and I paid 🤔🤔🤔

The Dart Crossing one is just as bad. Having told everyone with an account they must re-validate their payment card after July 28th, the system was closed for maintenance for two days, then you couldn't log in and I still can't get it to validate my card 11 days later.

I'm having issues with that one too.

Logged in, tried to validate the card details they had, just scrolling, scrolling, scrolling. In the end I had to change the card details but had to make it the default details, but I didn't want that, it was a credit card and I want it to come from my current account. So anyway, did it, then logged in and both cards are there, I change the current account card back to the defualt and leave the credit card as a back-up.

Try to log in this morning and its telling me I have to re-verify my card but it doesn't give an option to change the card details. Its just scrolling, scrolling, scrolling again.

I've emailed them to see if its all ok, and if we cross it will come off the account but I can't get into the account as I cant get past the verify card page.

Its fucking ridiculous.

I just used history to go back to the (dart charge) account management page I had open last night, I didn't think it would open becuase, you know, security, but it did, I went to payment methods, made the credit card the dafualt, signed out and signed back in and its working now.

These systems are just shocking. Seriously.

I agree it's awful - I drove into london for the first time in ages recenlty. I hadn't saved my ID number for the site anywhere (I assume at the time l set it up I just wanted to register and pay quickly and didn't give it much through) there's no way to get the number back! I tried to register a new account with differnt e-mail and phone number but it must checke the bank details and said nope I was already registerd!

In the end I had to give up and pay using their awful phone system.

I agree it's done on purpose to fine people. I am the sort of person that does everything on-line, most of my shopping, bascially all my banking and bills etc - I've never had these sorts of issues elsewhere. I can't image how someone who doesn't use the internet much would get on!

Sorry if I should have opened a new thread, but anyone else had issues setting up Autopay for the ULEZ stating on Tuesday.

Set up a TfL account this morning and added our vehicles. Logged back in to check all was as it should be, and we got stuck in a loop of signing in - and the vehicles we registered have disappeared.

Set them all up again.

8 hours later we received an email confirming our account has been set up, and that we should get a separate email regarding vehicles added to Autopay. As yet no email.

Tried to log back in to check if vehicles are still listed or if we have to register the all again. Back in that loop again...

Thought I'd leave it for tomorrow but just seen a message at this at the top of the TfL website - the autopay is unavailable 28/8 . I mean who does that the day before a new scheme goes live?!

Aaaagh this is so frustrating!!

I managed to set one up. Sadly I can’t really advise you how exactly. It seemed to just involve doing the same thing on a loop and it not working until one day it was there. It was the most unclear process I’ve ever dealt with

Probably the same idiots who have just taken over the Dart Charge payment scheme. we were told to re-validate our payment cards on 28/7. I am still trying daily to do it....

It's not just ULEZ.

It's congestion charge too.

We have successfully avoided the CC for 20 years, but drove in to it at the weekend when Tower Bridge was shut, the queues for Rotherhithe unbelievable and the "corridor" diversion route via London Bridge looking dire on the south side of the river. So we thought we'd just cough up to avoid all the jams.

Paying was an absolute fucking nightmare. Just wanting to pay once, for that day, before midnight. It took several goes, multiple error messages and/or lost connections (some just when you thought 'one more click and it's done at last')

We did get there in the end. But it really shouldn't be that cranky

I've found an auto pay manual online, it says auto pay is for the congestion charge, but you need yet another account to pay for the LEZ. Its from 2017 though so fuck knows if that still stands. But having one account to pay for everything would be far too simple, of course.

LEZ and ULEZ are two different things! They just sound the same. I found this out when I drove to London for the first time in my life last year and saw all these signs saying "you are now entering a LEZ" and I panicked and thought we were going to rack up a huge bill. I also got hit with the bastarding DART charge that day despite not actually using the Dartford tunnel and therefore thinking I had avoided it until the fine came up and I found out it applies to the bloody bridge as well.

I take it you're buying? I'll have a 2023 electric BMW please. Needs to fit 2 group 2/3 car seats, a double buggy in the boot, and a week's worth of shopping as well as all of the above. Never thought I could afford a new car and have been shitting myself for months leading up to the last MOT worrying about how I would replace our 2006 vehicle when it finally can't be repaired anymore but your very kind offer has just made my day!

I'm already pissed off because my shiny new compliant car now has an estimated delivery date of 29 September. If there are autopay issues it might tip me over the edge 😂

I might just go park my car 5 mins walk up the road where it's outside the zone.

Same happened to me! Spent forever jumping through all the hoops to set up autopay, remember it being confirmed and everything and then they sent me a fine and denied I had autopay! I had to leave the country for a while anyway at the time so couldn't be bothered fighting it but FFS, is this actual govt sanctioned scammery??

It's appalling. I drive to London maybe once a every couple of years, but used to live there and had my CC autopay all set up, never missed anything. Now they're trying to take nearly a quarter of my monthly salary (and a huge amount of my time and happiness) because their website is less fit for purpose than a chocolate teapot.

I don't know how less tech savvy people would even cope with it.
