To think it must be possible to make £10k a month online?

mammaneedsadrink · 05/08/2023 12:59

Basically I want to earn more money, but I also want to be able to have a life and spend time with my kids. Me and DH both work full time and we earn a very decent income, however, whilst on paper we are probs in the top 1%, in reality we are not rich at all (although we are comfortable). I see all these posts on social media about warning 10k a month online from just a few hours a day. AIBU to think this must be possible some how? Surely all these people can't be lying? Has anyone (successfully) built one of these online businesses, or know someone who has? How do they do it?!?!

£120,000 each so £240k put you in the top 5%

top 1% is in millions ?

It's all a bit MLM isn't it? If it were possible everyone would be doing it like. There's no such thing as free lunch as the saying goes.

You're quite right, but that's not what the saying means! It's about the economic concept of opportunity cost - the 'free lunch' isn't free when you take into account the next best opportunity foregone (whatever else you might have wanted to do with your time).

tootallfortheshelf · 05/08/2023 13:36

How about financial dominatrix?

JustMaggie · 05/08/2023 13:37

Instead of earning more by potentially dubious means maybe try spending less and saving more

BCCoach · 05/08/2023 13:38

If you are in the top 1% of earners as you claim you are already earning substantially over £10k a month.

AnyFucker · 05/08/2023 13:39

You are in the “top 1%” and need to ask this question ?

everetting · 05/08/2023 13:43

Maybe greed is your real issue?
Or are you just trying to recruit desperate people for a MLM?

everetting · 05/08/2023 13:45

And unless you are a well known name in porn or influencer you do not make this from being a cam girl either.

Yep 😂 I've got your answer, OP! Simply send me £2,849 for your failsafe starter pack, persuade everyone you've ever met to sign up and order a starter pack, then come to all my exciting development events (£7,650 per person, travel not included) and buy all my solid gold video tutorials (£9,870 a year). You'll never work again! Sack your boss!! Live your life!!!

VisionsOfSplendour · 05/08/2023 13:48

Maybe put your expenditure on here and we can make auggestionabon what to cut back on, a top 1% earner not feeling ruch could probably do with some money saving tips

Have you tried aldi, turning the lights off when you leave the room or turning the heating down a degree?

Temporaryname158 · 05/08/2023 13:49

Top 1% …. You are literally loaded!

I musn't have expained myself well but that's what i was getting at. The OC here is generally 1) losing a shedload of cash you probably don't have and 2) alienating family and friends.

dottiedodah · 05/08/2023 13:55

If it looks too good to be true, it probably is as the saying goes! Your job is well paid and you would like to spend more time with DC. Usually the two dont go together sadly. Maybe look for a different job and forget Online options

Yeah, apologies, you were! Blush

My friend earns about that on OnlyFans but it's not easy money. It's a lot of hard work and takes up an extraordinary amount of her time.

And it's time limited, of course. She'd be naive to think she would get the same amount of money in 10 years time.

Newjobformoremoney · 05/08/2023 14:00

I know someone who earns around that in “passive” income. They are an influencer who has spent 10 years building up collateral for this. They have over 300k followers on YouTube and about 200k on Instagram
But for 10 years they had absolutely no money. They still have to do their channel weekly etc and really it isn’t as easy as it looks and I would hate it.

That’s what I thought, OP and. OH can’t be the sharpest knives in the box if they can’t work out how to maximise the money they are (apparently) currently earning to improve their home life and future security.

Spreadbed · 05/08/2023 14:01

If you are actually in the top 1%, you ARE rich. The reason you don’t FEEL rich is because you probably live a rich person’s lifestyle - expensive house, expensive cars, expensive schools, etc. If you want to feel more rich then you will need to get a cheaper house in a cheaper area, a less expensive car, less expensive schools for your kids, etc. etc.

I suspect you won’t make any of those changes though.

PerspiringElizabeth · 05/08/2023 14:02

I'm afraid if it was possible and easy enough for lots of people to be doing it, you'd already know about it or be able to find out about it by an easy google.

PerspiringElizabeth · 05/08/2023 14:04

TBH if I was in the top 1%, both working full time, with kids, I would not want to add anything extra to my plate. Would that really be worth it? Really?!

We are top 10%, over £00k but under £160k. I don't work. 3 kids. In most expensive county. Feel incredibly comfortable. Maybe reassess your lifestyle/priorities/look inward more.

That's the thing some give the perspectives that it's easy but it all takes times

CringeLicious · 05/08/2023 14:13

Nor rich?
Top 1% of earners?
incredibly naive?
What business are you in? I could make a killing there.

mammaneedsadrink · 05/08/2023 13:05

Sadly I don't have the figure for it, otherwise I'd be all over it!

I’m just watching confessions of cam girl. You certainly don’t need a perfect body. It’s not the job for everyone, but it appears to pay a lot!

Whatswhatwhichiswhich · 05/08/2023 14:18

If you’re the top 1% you’re taking home 10k/month anyway for one person alone, that’s more than enough to live off of. Except anyone actually in the top 1% has the brains to know that you can’t make an online living from what’s being proposed already so I highly doubt you’re anywhere near that high an earner.

Chickenkeev · 05/08/2023 14:20

But at what cost?
