It could be chewing gum, shower gel, food, pens, anything really. For me it's the Muller corner vanilla yogurt with chocolate balls. A gorgeous treat and it's under a pound!

There's a nice body lotion in a massive tub from Poundland that's actually quite nice. I mean you may need to layer your skincare, and put something oilier on top. But it's a pound and it's still good.

A book from a charity shop you've been wanting to read

Yes! You can get three for £1 at my shop, we have so, so many. On a practical level, an Elbow Grease cleaning spray is one of the very best things for a quid!

Oh yes - nice-smelling shampoos too. Poundland actually does quite a few lovely ones.

Also, I remembered: colourful hair accessories from Primark for summer (not that in the UK we're still having one now...)

This is such a nice thread! Definitely agree with 99p Kindle books.

I really like the 49p colourful elastic hair bands for my daughters from Savers (Or 99p if you want plain black) - they're really good quality compared to other ones I've bought and don't snap easily.

Agree with daffodils and pomegranates!

I LOVE coriander and my local fruit and veg shop does a massive bundle for 95p. It makes me very happy.

(Weirdly, my mother has the 'coriander tastes like soap' gene thing and can't abide it. I wonder how that particular genetic anomaly passes down?)

Another one: Poundland lipsticks. I have it in red and it's fantastic. Doesn't bleed, it's comfortable on the lips, great pay off, and all round amazing. The crayon lipsticks they did were also really good. But if you fancy a nice lipstick, give it a try. I buy back ups now in case they get discontinued!

Dove bar soap. Every time. Gets me clean and doesn't irritate or dry out my skin. I'm prone to thrush and it's better for my down bellows than any of those fanny centred shower gels. Despite being perfumed.

Also, Fairy original washing up liquid.

TRexTara · 26/07/2023 18:59

Bellows??? No it's not quite that big.

bellalou1234 · 26/07/2023 19:13

Used to be a 99p cheeseburger

Lidls chocolate hazelnut doughnut, nicer than Krispy Kreme and only about 60p. A bunch of daffs or those Picota cherries when they're £1 in season. My favourite cheap luxury though is Treaclemoon honey shower gel but that's £2 for a huge bottle, can I use the fact I share it with DH to make it £1 each?
