I wonder what other beliefs will get sucked into the vortex over time? Your religious beliefs, how you eat, how you vote, who you socialise with, what charities you donate money to, your views on climate change perhaps.

We haven’t even factored in the reach so many other countries have within our education/housing sector. These are countries who are not democratic. The ability to access certain services might become dependent on alligning yourself to a different belief system. It’s not tin foil hat thinking unfortunately.

Stonewall has managed to permeate so many establishments in really quite a short amount of time. It’s very much the thin end of the wedge currently. The vicar that complained about Pride being pushed at him through his bank. His back account was cancelled soon after. It’s an extremely fracture silencing technique isn’t it.

Actually only Nigel Farage has seen this “36 page document” that he alleges were minutes from a Coutts meeting saying they closed his account due to his views.

If you can’t see a problem with mystery documents that Nigel Farage has refused to share with the BBC, then I can’t help you.

Sort of reminds me of mystery dossiers showing proof that Iraq had WMD that no one ever saw either…..

You should read up more. This isn’t the case

You're just making things up now. The minutes - from Coutts bank themselves, after a Subject Access Request - have been seen. If you can't debate truthfully, then really don't bother.

Anyway, here is the Guardian today:

Nigel Farage has a point. Coutts should explain itself

Bank for wealthy says it wants clients who are ‘disrupters and challengers’, but seems to find some less tolerable without the cash

Qbish · 20/07/2023 09:22

And here is a picture of Coutts during Pride month this year. I think it's clear what their gender agenda is.

I really can't work out who they're trying to appeal to these days.

Putting aside the facts it's courts and NF. I thought that no business had to take your custom if they decided not to? And there doesn't even need to be a reason?

If they decline him an account and anyone an account that's surely their right full stop?

Think this through.

How many new banks offer brick and morter storea to access to cash money?
How many of the current banks are closing branches or are going cashless?

You don't have a bank account because the banking system, that is all of the senior bank managers in all of the banks have a faith pratice you can not follow, because of this they decide you are locked into a cash only lifestyle in a society where the Government policy is to get rid of cash.

What is a year of your life going to lool like.

Is your job going to send a staff member out to their bank and collect your wages every week/month?
If you are an OAP or on other benefits how what is the Government process for cash handling?
How many business want a bank account as proof of ID or charge you more if you can not pay be DIrect Debit.
etc

Here is Coutts' LGBTQ+ page. It mentions "same sex relationships". Oh dear, the TRAs will be coming for them...

Taking Pride in our LGBTQ+ clients | Insights | Coutts

Also, this:

We also understand that LGBTQ+ individuals may have goals around family planning involving fertility treatment, surrogacy or adoption costs

So if a current client tweets or posts against surrogacy, will Coutts debank them?!

We are once again proud to support Pride month – find out more about how we work with and learn from our LGBTQ+ clients and colleagues.

Anyway, here is the Guardian today:

Your Guardian article even reports
”The former Ukip leader, according to the memo of the meeting of the “Wealth Reputational Risk Committee”, was about to fall below the qualifying threshold to be a customer. That threshold is maintaining borrowings or investments of more than £1m, or more than £3m in savings. Farage was soon to pay off his mortgage, presenting Coutts with a choice. It could keep him as a customer and overlook the qualifying criteria. Or it could put him on a “glide path”, in the language of the committee, to being removed. It opted for removal.”

In other words he did not give them a good reason to overlook their own minimum qualification requirements. That’s not the same thing as closing his account because of his political views.

Still I was being truthful. I was said exactly what the BBC reported. If there’s more, then it’s not me lying or whatever, it’s the fault of the BBC.

What a froth of scaremongering nonsense.
Nigel Farage has pulled the wool over your eyes once again.

did the Government of Canada decide that every person citizen or not must undergo a medical process, failure to do so would result in removal and/or limitation of civil rights?

Did the Government of Canada decide that the punishment for direct civil disobedience or a charitable financial donations was the removal of banking rights?

Has a group of rich bankers made a Moral Judgement on a customer?

BillaBongGirl · 20/07/2023 09:48

Christ, you know what is the real tragedy, and it’s not Nigel Farage having to bank with we commoners at NatWest?

It’s the fact that many immigrants cannot get U.K. bank accounts at all. You have to prove you are in the country legally to get a bank account. And with Home Office backlogs, many immigrants are legally here but cannot prove it. The Windrush scandal shows this extends to people being wrongfully deported - but little is said about these legal residents being denied bank accounts, NHS care, rental homes, jobs and so on.

Then even many immigrants who can prove their legal status, still cannot get U.K. bank accounts if they are citizens of the wrong country. And not necessarily even a “terrorist” country but a country that is too much faff for the bank to report the immigrants foreign assets to.

There are tons of banks and no one is going to be locked out of all banks.

Want to list the tons of banks?

Which of them have not got a department dedicated to their staff's idea of Good Moral Values?

Wiki has a good start on that, it doesn’t list all the local building societies and credit unions also available.

The BBC sacked Ben Hute for the bullshite he was publishing.

There are problems with lots of media, the BBC included, hence why others before posting, read multiple sources and read the documents. I wonder if the years later - angry remain voters - read up on anything and just have cartoon hate figures in their life? This thread is a shocking example of the angry remain voters!

TeenagersAngst · 20/07/2023 09:57

It seems increasingly clear that Coutts kept NF as a customer through years of political activity but chose to do so because he was an 'economic contributor'. Once the mortgage was paid off, his EC rating dropped.

However, there are suggestions that plenty of other people who bank with Coutts go through periods of being low economic contributors but they do not have their accounts closed.

So on balance, it feels to me like the mortgage was a convenient excuse to get rid of someone they clearly don't like. Quite why a bank, 40% owned by the taxpayer, can claim to have 'values' is beyond me. They haven't asked me, as a part shareholder, what my values are...
