To call my baby

Horace? It was my dear grandads name and I would love to honour him by naming my DS after him. Nobody has been rude about the name so far but I can tell people aren’t keen. My thinking is it can be nicknamed to Harry?

It's middle name material.

Name him Horace and call him Race. It has a certain dash to it.

I guess as long as their surname isn't track or horse it could work a treat.

Horace is an amazing name. It’s my nephews Nickname. BE BRAVE! BRING HORACE BACK!!!!

Personally don’t like it. To me it sounds ugly but that’s my opinion.

Reminds me of Horace Slughorn. And then with the nickname of Harry I would assume you were a massive Harry Potter fan. I would use it as a second name.

I think of Harry Potter (Horace Slughorn), 101 Dalmatian’s (Cruella’s henchman Horace) and well.. a not nice name for women and a donkey so middle name material, would be my vote.

Horace should only be a name for an old horse on it's last legs IMO.

Horry is absolutely awful too - and how long before someone calls him Horry-ble? I wouldn't even use it as a middle name personally. I had a friend whose parents had given him their parents hideous names as middle names - and I'll never forget them being read out when he got married. No one knew until then.

I love that name it was my Dads bosses name when I was a little girl and he was the nicest bloke! ❤️

I call my boy Horace when he's being a bit naughty ! I think it's really cute but I'm not sure if I could get past the horrid Horace connotations.
I'd go for middle name

Harry isn’t short for Horace. He might get called Hoz or maybe Horry the Lorry. I don’t know. But Horace isn’t a good name nowadays.

You can call him what you like, but the poor child will have to live with that name. It's really not good at all....

I went to school with a Horace and his life was a misery with bullies making fun of his name.

It makes me think of "what did Horace say, Winnie?"

It's a fine name, a bit weird sounding as it didn't come back with Wilfred etc but ok i think.

Horace is very cool imo!

It really isn't a cool name. Unless you think Nigel, Timothy, Herbert etc are "cool".

I would use Horace for the middle name instead.
