What has been the best thing about your day today?

I have had a surprisingly good Monday today, work day went well, I've exercised and eaten well.

The best thing about my day today has been listening to great music on my solo run, which was lovely and slow so not super hard, with what felt like the perfect running weather. It was a privilege to take that time for myself and move my body in the fresh air after sitting down working all day.

What was your best part of the day?

Swam in the sea with a wonderful group of ladies. Laughed like kids as the waves crashed over our heads. Sat in the sun drinking tea & admiring the skill of the kite surfers. The most wonderful start to the week.

UlrikakakaJ · 17/07/2023 23:19

My mum who is sometimes a bit sniffy about my job was proud of me today

dottydaily · 17/07/2023 23:26

I looked at my husband and taught “i really fancy him” just had that cute little moment and felt grateful all day for him…and loads of snuggles with my dog…

SkiingIsHeaven · 17/07/2023 23:28

My DD said she was thinking of moving out. Very sad but also flipping brilliant.

thatsn0tmyname · 17/07/2023 23:32

Finished watching The hunt for Red October. I bloody love that film.

OneMoreCookieMonster · 17/07/2023 23:36

I'm on mat leave and today is the first day since baby was born that I feel somewhat human. Got out, spent the morning In town with baby, had a pedicure, came home did all the chores, cooked a massive dinner with dessert for the family. Managed to do bedtime for kids x2, spent time with H and I even managed to have a bath on my OWN! now about to go to bed before the baby summons me at stupid o'clock for a feed.

Hugs with my children and dog after a very flat day at work.

WhatHaveIFound · 17/07/2023 23:37

The best thing about my day was that my dad recognised me when I went to visit him in hospital!

VeridicalVagabond · 17/07/2023 23:40

It hasn't happened yet but it will in an hour or two. Husband is away tonight at a friend's so I get the whole bed to myself. I'm so looking forward to starfishing right in the middle, having the fan on full blast and listening to relaxing ambience to fall asleep. It's literally the only thing I miss from my single days.

LadyGardenersQuestionTime · 17/07/2023 23:41

Lunch with old friends, people I have known for 40 years 😱. We have only changed for the better.

SocksAndTheCity · 17/07/2023 23:41

Finished work unexpectedly early! This meant I managed to get the last place on the spin class I like (and normally miss) as well as having time for a swim and a sauna at the gym. Then I went straight to Pizza Express and had dough balls, a pizza and tiramisu 😀

fluffynotebook · 17/07/2023 23:42

I work in a children's home and have been at work today. My highlight was picking up the 15 year old from school and she had a huge smile on her face when she saw me. I love my job ❤️

zombielady · 17/07/2023 23:45

A cuddly nap with dd (9) who's poorly with tonsillitis.

GroggyLegs · 17/07/2023 23:49

My DS2 really made me laugh with something quick & clever while he was lying on his back, with me squooshing his face, as his Dad cut his toenails.

He's just funny and beautiful. I love the random moments of joy.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 17/07/2023 23:51

Walking to get my lunch on my lunch break.

Sun was shining and I was listening to music and felt happy.

Also because I usually take my lunch in, so buying something nice was a treat.

Lavender14 · 17/07/2023 23:54

A bit bittersweet if I'm honest but my ds moved into his nursery today for the first time and he's done really well with sleeping so far. It's really nice to see him getting bigger and claiming his own safe space in our home and being more independent. (Even if I'm glued to the monitor and missing him being in beside me.)

Lifeistough74 · 17/07/2023 23:58

Monday was great did the shopping , watched some tv and a good movie and love island and feel like we got some sunshine will out the radio on Tomorrow and feel epic.

I have the urge for mars bar ice cream tho it’s addictive.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 18/07/2023 00:02

I’m dog sitting for my neighbour at the moment. I go in and the dog is so pleased to see me, feed her and she is thrilled, but when I say “let’s get your lead” she goes completely loopy and spins in circles - it is utterly joyful! We have a cat who I love beyond words, but the pure joy of a dog about to go on a walk is something else.

Greensleeves · 18/07/2023 00:07

It's our 23rd wedding anniversary today, and I was woken with a lovely coffee and a beautiful silver jewellery box from DH. He took the day off work (I work non-standard hours) and we went fishing together and had a nice lunch. It's been an absolutely delightful day, just being together and relaxing, and we REALLY needed it because things have been fucking stressful lately (who knew young adult children were more high-maintenance than bloody toddlers)

Squirrelsnut · 18/07/2023 00:09

Food shopping with DH. We don't spend much time just the two of us. It was mundane but nice.

caringcarer · 18/07/2023 00:10

DC had a fantastic cricket 1-1 followed by a good group net session. I sneaked off for a carvery meal and it was so good. When I came back DC had been concentrating so hard I don't think he realised I'd missed any. He thought I'd just popped to the loo.

PermanentTemporary · 18/07/2023 00:10

Today has been a really good one. Lots of peak moments including walking away from a session with a patient that I thought was pretty successful, after making a mess of the last 2 with them. Also roasting veggies for dinner just for myself.

But top of the pops was that my NEW BLIND was installed. I love it.

The best thing about my day was that my dad recognised me when I went to visit him in hospital!

That's a win.

sanityisamyth · 18/07/2023 00:12

DS got a brilliant report from school
Organised a fab sports day for 29 Cub Scouts
Awarded 168 badges to them afterwards
Uni graduation tomorrow

I've had worse weeks!
