Legoland Windsor queues

How bad are they on your average summer Saturday? I've booked to go and hoping for an access pass due to autism but if I don't get one how bad is it?

It's been an amazing day! We went on 13 different rides and of those we went on 3 of them twice: coastguard HQ, Ninjago ride and the Dragon. Thank goodness for the access pass as without it we'd have done about a third of what we did today.
The weather was pretty rubbish but there was only heavy rain at 1pm for the pirate show and they shut everything because there was lightning overhead. At that point the ninjago ride was the only thing open apart from the monster party and the queue was 90 minutes when we were in the shop. Most people then left the queue.
The Viking river rapids kept closing and when it was open the queue was full so we couldn't do that one.
The lockers that are supposed to be plentiful were a mystery to every member of staff we asked about them. So we carried everything round all day.
A lot of the food huts were closed I noticed.
The refillable cup is crap. Don't bother. Someone stole ours but before then we only got one drink and it was warm, flat and watery soda.
The ride of the sky lion was amazing and probably my favourite experience of the day.
The ningago ride was great fun.

The signage is rubbish and it took ages to get my bearings when my sense of direction is usually spot on. Lots of staff giving the wrong directions didn't help.

Most of the staff were great.

Mini land was fantastic and much better than expected. The detail was amazing.

Would I go again? Definitely. Would I go without an access pass? No. Most of the rides we got straight on with a few minutes wait. Without the pass it would have been a lot of money for not very much unless you got an offer like bogof. I wouldn't pay full price and get an access pass. Not many people had them from the reserve and ride queue times.

We have new Lego sets to build next week now 😃

The bus from Windsor was easy and £2 each.

Don't go to Wetherspoons for food at gone 8pm! The noise was unbearable for ds. If needs must go to McDonald's next door.

Have s great time to those who are going soon and thank you to all those who have helpful tips and shared knowledge for my trip.

Sounds brilliant! Thanks for such a good report too :)

I’m glad you had such a good day.

For those unable to get access passes, use your inset days wisely and you can get in as many rides in a day as op. If not more! I used to take ours on inset days, get there early (from south wales) take lunch which we usually ate while watching the show then take advantage of the kids eat free after 4pm (I think, maybe it was 5) for their tea and then put them in their pj’s in the car. Crank up the heating and they’d be asleep before we got the the m4!

Can I ask about the access pass please? @AutisticLegoLover
Was it for yourself or your child?
I've just been awarded pip standard daily living and standard mobility for asd adhd and mental health, do you think I would be able to get the queue symbol on an access pass?
I had a look on their website but found it not overly easy to understand
I'm also a big lego fan!
Thanks x

AutisticLegoLover · 06/08/2023 10:44

@Mummiepig yes, you just upload your evidence like pip letter when you apply.

Thank you 😊

Not sure about Saturdays but we went on a weekday in the summer holidays and it was horrendously busy. So busy that we actually had a rubbish day all in all. Never again.

AutisticLegoLover · 06/08/2023 17:22

See it wasn't too bad yesterday at all. Apart from when ninjago got a rush because everything else was shut but even then it was only 90 mins which compared to Alton towers is nothing. Most queues were 15-30 mins I'd say.

@AutisticLegoLover do you mind sharing your top 3 rides? I'm taking my 5 year old for the first time on Friday. We can't afford passes and we live SO far away this won't be a regular trip so want to make sure we aim for the best rides!

AutisticLegoLover · 06/08/2023 18:48

Ds is 7 and enjoyed coastguard HQ, ninjago, the dragon most I think. Coastguard HQ you get to captain a boat yourself and we did that twice. My favourites were the dragon, ninjago and flight of the sky lion. Pirates falls is up there too.

Thank you!

LancashireSquirrel · 09/08/2023 21:41

For those with Access Passes, could you use them to access the park itself or did you still have to join the queue to get in?

LancashireSquirrel · 10/08/2023 21:46

For anyone who may come across this thread, we visited today and it was fantastic. Very little queuing time with the access pass, ranged from 5 minutes to 15 minutes. We went on lots of rides!

saxendafirsttime · 26/08/2023 18:37

We have just left Legoland had a fantastic day. Fast passes are an absolute life saver.

Only a few grumbles, one was the lockers it costs you £1 EVERY-TIME you open the locker, I assumed it returns the £1 when you open the door and after unlocking it realised it doesn't return it so had to pay another £1 to lock it and then another £1 after getting the stuff we put in there out at lunchtime and putting it back after which is an absolute rip off.

Also there are very few places to sit, benches etc are few and far between so if you are waiting for others to go on rides etc expect to stand up
