How long does it take you to get ready in the mornings?

Don't have any kids to get ready, just myself. I find that it's taking me around 50 minutes and I'd like to reduce it. I get up, have a quick breakfast, then shower (wash my hair pretty much every day because it's short and gets greasy easily) shave my legs every day, etc.
Then towel dry my hair, don't put any make up on but put SPF on, then checking I've got everything and somehow that always takes me at least 50 minutes. I don't know why.
Interested to hear how long it takes others.

One trick I was told was to have everything ready the night before. So clothes out, bag packed and always keep your keys in the same place so you can grab them!

30 mins is enough for
shower, get dressed,, breakfast, teeth, minimal make up. But if I need to tidy up, make lunch, empty dishwasher, etc it’s 45 mins. No hair washing though as that’s a performance

JanesBlond · 12/07/2023 11:46

If I shower in the morning then about half an hour. If not then about 10 minutes. I’m always on the train within an hour of waking up when I go to the office but usually have breakfast when I get there. I pack my bag and lay out my clothes the night before.

Sprig1 · 12/07/2023 12:05

About 4 mins. I don't shower in the morning I have a bath in the evening. All I do in the morning is get up, go to the loo, brush my teeth and chuck some clothes on. I don't like eating first thing so I have breakfast at my desk after I start work.

About 30 minutes and don’t wash hair. But like to sit with a cuppa and get my lunch all packed

FinallyHere · 12/07/2023 13:29

If I know what I'm going to wear & my bag is already packed, I can be out in ten minutes.

Early morning lav, teeth, shower, deo and spf for the face. Get dressed, shoes, pickup keys and bag and, above all, keep going.

If I stop for anything it can takes a lot longer.

Set alarm for six very rarely need it.
Turn the duvet back to air the bed, open the window.

Coffee, read for a while.
Upstairs, make the bed.
Teeth, moisturise.
Get dressed, clothes laid out night before.
Breakfast porridge in the winter overnight oats in the summer.
Wash up breakfast things.
Leave about twenty to eight.

Probably about 40 minutes. Straight up at alarm and into the shower, wash hair etc. Get dressed, tie up hair and put shoes on. Pack lunch into bag, drink a cuppa. Brush my teeth and take my pills. Collect coat and bag and keys. Out the door! I put my clothes to hand before bed and also prep any lunches when I'm making tea the night before.

Seddon · 12/07/2023 14:32

I get up at 7.45am and am logged on for working at home by 8am, or dressed, made up and out the door to go to the office at 8.10am.

kitsuneghost · 12/07/2023 14:35

I shower the night before so:

brush teeth
spray deodrant
socks, pants, leggings, dress
make coffee
Take antihistamines
toilet and go

About 10min

Growlybear83 · 12/07/2023 14:52

If I'm going out rather than working from home it takes me either 15 or 20 minutes (depending on whether I need to wash my hair) to shower, get dressed, feed the cat, and have some breakfast.

CoalCraft · 12/07/2023 14:58

If we're talking just me, virtually no time at all. I have a quick wash in the sink, brush my teeth, get dressed and brush my hair. Total maybe 10 mins? Add on breakfast (cereal), that's another ten mins.

If we're talking about getting the two DC up and ready too then a lot longer...

elliejjtiny · 12/07/2023 15:01

90 minutes if I'm taking my time. I can do it in 20 with dc or 10 on my own if I have to.

YeCannaeChangeTheLawsOfPhysics · 12/07/2023 15:02

20 mins

I multi task doing my hot and drinking coffee at same time

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 12/07/2023 15:10

50mins to get up shower, brush teeth, make up, do hair, make beds and support DC with ASD with breakfast and to get ready.

OldTinHat · 12/07/2023 15:51

40mins.

Shower, wash (long) hair, make up, breakfast.

TinyTom · 12/07/2023 16:17

I'm about 40 mins, and that includes getting myself and a one year old out the house, sorting out a dog and a cat as well as washing my hair every morning and applying make up. I'm super organised and sort everything out the night before - my clothes (including jewellery, underwear, shoes etc) and babies clothes laid out the night before, baby milk poured and in the fridge ready to grab, an easy breakfast the baby can eat whilst I'm doing my make up (which is a much practised, easy and fail sage routine) and yeah... it just seems to work well for us!
