New to this game. Weren't around when I was young and DD has started. I don't want to wash each pair separately but I don't want to put them in with everything else? Do I pop them in a separate bag in the laundry basket and wait til the end of the week and bung them in together? Or leave them all
Soaking in a bucket?

Put in seperate laundry bag.

Rinse in cold water (or get DD to).

then bung in normal wash with other similar colour clothes.

this so what I’ve been doing for 6 months now and no ill effects 😂

I did buy the M&S ones though as they can be tumble dried.

Binfire · 06/07/2023 21:51

Rinse them in cold water after you’ve worn them until the water runs clear, then throw them in with the rest of our washing at 30 degrees. Never tumble dry.

DustyLee123 · 06/07/2023 21:51

I just makes sure I do a wash every day, no Chuck them in.

BurntOrangeAutumn · 06/07/2023 21:52

I just wash them with all the other underwear/socks on 30 then low in the tumble dryer.

And Chuck them in 🙄
and I don’t tumble them either.

cyncope · 06/07/2023 21:52

I just wash with everything else.

Traceyislivid · 06/07/2023 21:53

Just wash in the normal wash

PollyThePixie · 06/07/2023 21:53

You tell your DD to wash them out under the cold tap in the bathroom then give them a bit of a rub with her soap. Once that’s done she wrings them out then puts them in the laundry basket. Or she could have a small bucket with a lid to keep them in before doing a separate wash for them when she’s finished.

Facefortheradio · 06/07/2023 21:53

Rinse. Bosh in the wash. Line dry ideally.
Bloody marvellous things.

turnthetoiletpaperroundproperly · 06/07/2023 21:53

ask your question on you tube theres loads of videos to show you how to care for them on there. I know this as I was looking to get some for my dd but I hadnt got a clue!!

Thefieldisfallow · 06/07/2023 21:53

Just in with everything else.

Cyllie33 · 06/07/2023 21:56

Just stick them in with everything else. I don’t think I’d use them if I had to faff with rinse/soak/separate buckets etc

Dinopawus · 06/07/2023 22:01

If you prefer to rinse them, put them in a nappy bag and tie loosely with a single knot. Throw the bag in the washing machine and the knot will become untied and the pants washed alongside your normal washing.

If you hang the bag on the line you can use it again.

gogomoto · 06/07/2023 22:03

Mine just go in the normal dark wash

LindorDoubleChoc · 06/07/2023 22:04

I would at least soak in cold water + salt for a few hours before washing with anything else.

Diddykong · 06/07/2023 22:06

I pop them in a rinse cycle (7 mins or something) and then I chuck in a load of other clothes and wash on low heat (20/30) with no softener.

Nothingbuttheglory · 06/07/2023 22:06

Rinse and squeeze under cold running water until nothing comes out.

Chuck in little lidded bucket with some Oxi and cold water.

Wait until doing a darks wash.

Brief rinse out then chuck in with everything else.

Line dry.

LindorDoubleChoc · 06/07/2023 22:07

I recently fell and gashed my shin and a fair amount of blood soaked into my jeans. I soaked them in cold water before washing - the water was pretty red (sorry tmi) and I definitely wouldn't have wanted all that blood sloshing around in with the rest of my laundry.

speluncean · 06/07/2023 22:08

I just wash them in a dark wash and dry on the rack or line.

Whatwouldscullydo · 06/07/2023 22:19

Soak, rinse then shove in the normal dark wash without fabric softener.

DappledThings · 06/07/2023 22:21

Rinse then chuck in with the next wash. Why don't you want to wash them with other stuff? The only thing I separate in the washing at all is DC's school polo shirts and DH's cricket stuff. Anything not white goes in whenever there's a full load ready.

Hariboislife · 06/07/2023 22:22

Rince in cold water until runs clear, chuck in wash with everything else but no fabric softener (affects absorbency like with towels) then line dry (don’t tumble)

bridgetreilly · 06/07/2023 22:23

That all sounds like a massive faff compared to a menstrual cup, tbh.

BogRollBOGOF · 06/07/2023 22:23

I use a wet bag to store pads/ pants. Put it in for a cold wash, then add the rest of a load for a standard wash and dry as normal.

I just put the wet bag in the washer with the zip open and it all falls out and rinses. No manual handling required.

I can't use a menstrual cup.
