To get rid of Amazon prime membership

Has anyone else got rid? I think it was costing me more actually. I suppose I will just have to wait for delivery as opposed to getting it the next day. I don't know why I feel so sad about it!! 😂😂

I use it when I get a free trial...happens around 3 times a year for a month...I cancel it straight away but get the free postage for a month. Dont use it apart from that when it's free for postage

Lacucuracha · 07/07/2023 06:59

They are getting stricter on the free trials, now they only offer me a week’s Prime for £0.99!

DustyLee123 · 07/07/2023 07:02

We’ve got prime and I’ve just ordered something this morning, but it’s not arriving until Monday.

daisychain01 · 07/07/2023 07:11

I checked online as I didn't know it had gone up. The headline says "price hike" ... what, £1 a month. Hardly a "hike"!

we live in a rural village so it's better for us to buy on Amazon than traipsing round and potentially not finding an item and then having to order it off the web anyway. If we know we can definitely buy something in our local town then we do that to give the business locally, but shops can't stock everything.

AlrightJulia · 07/07/2023 07:12

I cancelled but I've gone back to it - we use it a lot. Watch all the free stuff on prime video and occasionally pay for a movie we really watch to want. Still cheaper than a cinema trip. We all use prime music for playlists, although I agree it used to be better. I read a lot of books free through the prime book offer. Tbh if that went then I'd reconsider as that is a major draw for me. And then obviously the delivery is used a lot as we live rurally and I also like the reviews for items. We don't have any other streaming services unless they're on a free trial so that one monthly payment is good value for us.

whiteroseredrose · 07/07/2023 07:13

I've had Prime for nearly 20 years and found it to be good value for the delivery alone. All 4 of us use it though.

However I agree that customer service has gone downhill a lot.

daffodilandtulip · 07/07/2023 07:16

I want to get rid but I do genuinely buy a fair bit for my business from there. What's the average cost of postage? Do things have free postage if you just wait longer?

Watchkeys · 07/07/2023 07:19

I collect from a pick up box. It's free, yes.

jc12689 · 07/07/2023 07:23

Works well for me. Virtually everything I order (and i order a lot) arrives the same or the next day. I also watch a lot on prime video. Worth every penny for me.

jay55 · 07/07/2023 07:24

I like prime reading but I did contemplate cancelling last renewal but decided on another year . I probably will cancel next time, unless the streaming improves.

Ilovepugs2017 · 07/07/2023 07:24

We don’t have sky tv so we use prime video alongside now tv. We also use prime for music to be streamed via the alexas. I order things now and again off there but generally it’s worth the cost for me I’d say

SoDarnCool · 07/07/2023 07:26

Oh I love amazon, I could never get rid. I order something most days

RatatouilleAndFeta · 08/07/2023 00:05

How much is it now?

Redglitter · 08/07/2023 03:57

RatatouilleAndFeta · 08/07/2023 00:05

How much is it now?

£7.99 a month

Cleanmean · 08/07/2023 04:04

I've kept it but only because for some odd reason we're on the student rate of 39.99 which I thought seemed OK. I would never pay full price for it.

pristinequeen · 08/07/2023 04:08

Mines always next day unless I order too late, I find it so handy and use a lot. It's great for anything baby related that you need in a hurry

LadyB49 · 08/07/2023 04:23

Regardless of the streaming or delivery, I find that as an avid reader (2 - 3 books each week) the free Prime books on Kindle more than pay for the fee. I wouldn't be without it.

IamThegreaterMole · 08/07/2023 04:34

I only have it for the delivery and it’s very reliable. I get everything sent to a pick-up locker, maybe that helps

SullysBabyMama · 08/07/2023 04:37

I have Amazon music and always have but don’t have Amazon Prime deliveries? People mention they have a streaming service also? Is this all in one price or a bundle?

daisychain01 · 08/07/2023 07:54

Prime video and music is all part of the Prime package. You should be getting prime deliveries if you make sure it's selected when you buy things as apparently it sometimes defaults to normal service. Also you have be sure your product is covered by Prime as not everything is.

icelollycraving · 08/07/2023 08:02

I don’t often watch the tv or use the music but I order a lot. Delivery extremely reliable and often get same day or next day by 1pm.

OldTinHat · 08/07/2023 08:04

I've got rid, too, and use eBay now - and there's cashback on eBay via Quidco, so win, win!
