To be absolutely fed up with the rain?

I'm in Liverpool and we had a good few weeks of 28 degree dry weather but now it's been raining for a good while and I'm bloody fed up. I've had to move my plants as well because they're being heavily over watered. If we do get a bit of sun, it only lasts for an hour or maybe 2. I will say though, it's a lot better than being sweltering hot all summer! But I do feel quite odd having to wear a jumper and a coat in July.

How is the weather where you are?

Warmish here in South Yorkshire today. Car registered 19 degrees in Sheffield.

Surrey. It's going to rain for the next 2 weeks apparently. In July. FFS.

As long as it doesn't reach 40C like they are predicting, then all good with me.

BelindaBears · 04/07/2023 18:19

I’d much prefer rain to a hosepipe ban, a brown lawn and a practically empty reservoir. Most of June was hot and sunny. It’s only the 4th of July so it can’t have been raining that long.

Are they?

Is that soon?

Somerset/Devon border and it has finally rained today after 8 long weeks with nothing but a few pathetic showers which did not even lay the dust or register in my rainguage.
The last time it actually rained here was 9th May. Now dancing for joy, relishing the feel of the precious, life giving stuff on my skin and the wonderful smell of petrichor, but we need days and days of it to reduce the soil moisture deficit and keep temperatures at a comfortable level.

For those of us whose livings and livlihoods depend upon rain it is more than welcome, it is vital for the continuance of all living things, it is beautiful and precious stuff and we should welcome it

Foothills of the Pennines. West side.

Bloody freezing and wet for days. Been a bit drier today but 11 degrees in July. Really ?

mydogisthebest · 04/07/2023 18:27

It certainly was not the hottest June where I am in East Midlands. We had a couple of hot days but otherwise it was really not that warm.

Last week it rained every day and this week is not much better. Cool yesterday and torrential rain. Cool again today and more rain.

Having to use the tumble dryer. Ridiculous weather

TheLostNights · 04/07/2023 18:45

Yes they keep saying that end of July and August will mean temps up to 40C. I hope that's not going to bloody happen. Was unbearable last year. 😔

emmetgirl · 04/07/2023 18:49

I had a day off today after working long hours lately. I was so glad it rained all day so I didn't feel bad about pretty much sleeping most of the day. If it's sunny I always feel like I should be "doing" something

I'm in London and we've a solid few hours of rain this afternoon. I'm so glad - all the trees were looking very unwell.
