A friend at work was telling me that me her and her sister were looking in a bridal shop in another country (not too far away but another language is spoken there alongside English) for ideas for Wedding/Bridesmaids dresses. Friend and sister were talking amongst themselves in English when one of the staff members made a disparaging comment about "the English" to her colleague in the other language. Turns out the sister speaks the other language fluently after living there for 20 years. She told the staff member that if they didn't want custom from 'the English' then it's their loss as they were planning on getting a certain wedding dress (around £1000) and kitting out eight bridesmaids at that shop, but fair enough. The rude staff members were falling over themselves to try and accommodate friend and her sister and we're immediately trying to apologise, but they just walked out and found another (much nicer) local shop.
Anyone else experience the instant karma/cutting nose off to spite face scenario?
