To not have cut DD14 toenails

Ivegotadickheadex · 18/06/2023 21:51

DD is nearly 14.

Ex thinks it's my responsibility to cut her toenails.

I think it's DD's responsibility to cut her own toenails.

AIBU?

(Btw I remind her regularly)

@GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing

It's not unhygienic 🤣 we EAT with our hands.

None of us have ever had threadworms. We're the healthiest family we know, maybe because we're not scared of nail germs? 😂 As a family we don't even get colds.

Honestly, our nails are sometimes bittern, sometimes the toenails will just come off, it's literally never, ever, ever been an issue.

I'm sorry everyone is so upset 😂

I do take the kids for haircuts at my nice salon though, they enjoy the pampering. We find hair less self regulating 😃

RhosynBach · 19/06/2023 21:49

Nails shouldn’t moult to reveal new ones 😱

anyway op, no. Your ex expecting you to cut a 14 year olds toenails seems so ridiculous I wondered if this was a troll post. Or are there any other issues like any additional needs? Otherwise, obviously yanbu. My ds has cut his toenails since he was about 9. I don’t even remind him that often. I don’t even think I’ve taught him either. He just takes the nails scissors and gets on with it.

Nobody is upset. We're boggling at what you're saying because it's definitely not healthy for your nails to come off like it's normal. It isn't. We're not reptiles that shed and have new shit underneath.

Biting them is still cutting them. What you mean is you don't use nail clippers.

🏃‍♀️runs off to add this to the bonkers thread roundup

OP, I’m assuming your DD knows how to cut her toenails and she isn’t molting them on a regular basis. So your EX is insane.

@HopelessEstateAgents I just googled and nowhere could I find a resource that says self regulating toenails exist. 🤣 I’m imagining your family huddled in the corner passing around an illicit set of clippers.

DC: Hurry dad! My toes need clipped.

DH: Wait your turn, I’m almost done
DC: shhh she’s coming
DH: Now remember if she she notices just tell your mum that they fell off like hers

I don't know how many families you know, but you're not that healthy if your toenails keep falling off.
