To send a picture of my pubic region to the surgeon who did my c section?

I work in an industry where we craft things and then sometimes don’t ever see them develop. I love it when a client sends a photo.

Am a year on from my C and honestly so impressed with it. My surgeon was like da Vinci with a thread and needle. It is absolutely perfect and I want to send my thanks.

Any surgeons out there? Would you like to see your handiwork again or is this totally bizarre and you don’t want random pictures of peoples pubis region! 🤣

YANBU - send the pube pic
YABU - no one wants to see that

I ended up bumping into my surgeon in a cafe a couple of years later. She recognised me and gave me (and now toddler) a big hug 🙂

One of my children had had major brain surgery all the way down the back of her head, in the middle, down to her neck. It had to be re-sewn due to repeated surgeries/really gross complications, and at one stage looked so bad my other child saw her and hid (we had pre warned her, shown pictures etc). 18m on its healed so well she can wear bunches down the largely invisible scar line. The surgeon is a genius. I'm not going to send him a picture though - but he's still in charge of her long term care so he sees her anyway 🙂

The consultant will direct the Jr what to use.

I've heard that staples are good. We never get to see the end result! I guess the trouble is you have to come to have them taken out.

We usually use absorbable sutures as standard.

My midwife took mine out at home during my check up.

My scar was honestly perfect, I struggled to find it after a few years.

Getting the staples removed was completely pain free which surprised me.

I had dissolvable stitches second time and didn’t like it.

I work with obstetricians and I think most of them would be slightly bemused! An effusive thank you card is more than enough, and will be much appreciated.

I had to send pics of my arm to Dr last week, the link they sent me said not to send anything like that.

I’m sure if they wanted a pic at the time they would’ve asked if you’d mind.

mastertomsmum · 14/06/2023 17:09

I’m tempted to say the one that did mine needs a photo wake for the opposite reason 😂

HidingFromDD · 14/06/2023 17:23

Reminds me of my thyroidectomy where the consultant said ‘and I’ll make the incision along that line on your neck so no-one will see it’. Didn’t really appreciate the turkey neck comments but he’s right, it’s totally invisible now 😁

I'm confused. Would a pic of a c section scar really show genitals? I'd assume it would be higher and the OP wouldn't be sending anything inappropriate.

Not genitals no, but mine is definitely really low - if I don’t wax/shave mine is completely covered by pubic hair. Mine sits on my pubic bone.

Haha these stories!

I don’t think I dare ask about the SA case! 😵‍💫

You will all be proud to know it was a woman surgeon! She was the consultant and did do the whole thing. If it was a man I don’t think this would have ever crossed my mind.

To PPs wondering, it was dissolvable stitches, and I did have one reappear a couple of months back which I thought was a pube. So maybe do have some floating around internally 😬

And PP asking about location; it’s in the pube line so not the tummy. Avoids the more intimate parts but still a bit of an odd crotch shot location 🤣

And sorry to those who aren’t as happy with theirs. I am hopefully going to have another one at some point so might be joining you in due course! 😭
