To think Dan Wootoon is an odious misogynist and celebs need to stop getting involved with him?

First he came after Caroline Flack

Then he practically wet himself with joy at the chance to destroy Holly Willoughby over her colleagues mistakes (because we all know when a man fucks up the nearest woman should be blamed)

Now he is criticising Harry for trying to protect his family - but guess who’s at fault it is for not keeping him in line - Meghan of course!

Why are Eamon Holmes and Carol McGriffin(?) giving this absolutely sexist lowlife the time of day?

DAN WOOTTON: Why won't Meghan tell Harry he's acting foolish?

DAN WOOTTON: The missteps of Prince Harry's kamikaze mission are spiralling out of control, destroying what little credibility the Sussexes had left.

From Popbitch:

The Sun have been having a hell of a time trying to retrofit a public interest to their Huw Edwards story, pulling up any old incident of workplace misconduct they can find to pin on him now that the police are saying there's no evidence of any crime.

It's a shame they've put themselves in this position because if all they wanted was a story about a news broadcaster who has made life uncomfortable for colleagues by sending them "inappropriate messages", they have a really juicy one much closer to home. It will involve asking some difficult questions, but they have an excellent starting lead.

They should still have all of Dan Wootton's old HR files stashed away somewhere – so maybe they could start there? There's bullying allegations, NDAs - even a few pay-offs they could get the guys in finance to dredge back up. While they're doing that, they could look into why Wootton kept getting promoted while some of those who lodged complaints got sidelined.

Former colleagues seem perfectly willing to chat – but hey. We shouldn't be doing their job for them. Just start pulling at the thread. See what you find...

I think given recent events, any media outlet would be treading carefully and waiting for actual evidence before reporting what a former partner said.

True but isn't there allegations of harassment of colleagues... you'd think GB might be beginning an internal investigation at the least with how much is across twitter

Iwantcakeeveryday · 14/07/2023 16:43

yes @presenterspackitinffs but they don't need to tell us theyre doing that do they? Only if it concludes he did something wrong. BBC receives public funds so seems to come under more scrutiny too.

We don't know that they aren't investigating. But tell all stories from an ex are to be viewed with a very careful eye. It'll be HR and lawyers who will be working overtime.

TooBigForMyBoots · 14/07/2023 17:03

How did Dan Wootton cover the stories from an Ex when he covered the Schofield and Edwards stories on GB News? Was his a careful eye?

PerkingFaintly · 14/07/2023 17:05

Scrutiny isn't something that just happens though. It's something people do.

If the other media outlets suddenly started running headlines on "will they or won't they", "is there a cover up?" about GB News or the Sun carrying out an investigation into Wootton, that would create pressure for both to investigate and make public pronouncements.

NB I'm not recommending other media do this!

I'm not at all comfortable with the whipping up of mobs by social media or traditional media becoming the primary means to dictate what, whom and when things should be investigated. Too easily used as a means to target someone for an unjustified reason, or to direct attention away from genuine wrongdoers.

The tolerant left I see 😂

Careful, they’ll tell you to ‘be kind’ next.

@Swrigh1234 Haha too right.

Seems there a few trying to cancel me already 😂

Who is trying to cancel you? And how are they doing it?

Oh. It worked then.

Not sure if you realise it, but disagreeing with you doesn't mean anyone is trying to cancel you. People are allowed to disagree around here, it's called free speech. Or is that a terrible lefty concept?

Well no doubt his employer will conduct a thorough and transparent investigation of all such rumours, making detailed daily progress reports to the public whether he has actually done anything wrong or not.

It's in the public interest, after all.

And actually in this case, if the rumours are about fellow staff members (especially more junior ones), it's quite genuinely within the employer's remit.

Well here we are four days later, and it transpires that someone has notified Wootton's employers of allegations against him and presented evidence - at least so they claim.

Some details here, more to come:
bylinetimes.com/2023/07/17/gb-news-star-dan-wootton-unmasked-in-cash-for-sexual-images-catfishing-scandal/

And this it was has happened with his employers:

Byline Times has put the content of this story in its entirety to GB News, MailOnline and the Metropolitan Police.
After it was announced that Wootton would be fronting his regular GB News show at 9pm this evening, Byline Times again approached it for comment, extending the deadline for a response. At the time of publication, no comment had been provided.
A spokesperson for News UK said: “We have received an email from Byline this afternoon which we are looking into. We are not able to make any further comment at this stage.”

I actually think employers should be able to investigate such allegations in private - other than informing the police - until such time as any are proved to have substance.

But the Daily Mail and News UK didn't consider that OK when the employer was the BBC, so...

JeremyBellend · 02/10/2024 00:50

They are all cunts on GB news you prick. Get real

JeremyBellend · 02/10/2024 00:56

Just call anyone you do not agree with a "lefty". What a bell end you are. Wootton is a dirty scumbag plain and simple. He actually spread dirty untrue rumours about HIV in Hollywood for a story. For a gay man that is pretty reprehensible. I hope everthing he has said comes back to haunt the little shit

ToNiceWithSpice · 02/10/2024 01:56

I thought he was the guy out of big bang theory and was thinking, what, why have i not heard anything awful about him . turns out that's will wheaton

newnamethanks · 02/10/2024 14:38

Wootton is a horror and is lucky to still be working. Till next time. He can't resist being the person he is.
