Simple things that I should have done years ago to make life easier

My lovely cat has been waking us up at 5/6am for 6 years.
Last night I had the genius idea of closing the lounge door so she couldn't come to our room.
Hence we slept longer. Why did I not think of this earlier? I love cat snuggles but love a lie in more.

Am I thick or does anyone have similar stories?

Disclaimer - I have NOT rtft, so somebody else may already have said it. For 'worn but not dirty' clothes I hang them on the left side of my wardrobe (there is less space there), clean clothes go on the right. Previously, when I didn't have different wardrobe sides, I hung the worn clothes inside out.

I don't have a dishwasher so this is a genuine question. Assuming the machine is on the same program, does it use more energy and/or water if it's got a full load as opposed to washing just a few mugs?

I thought everyone did this for small bits, things like table legs etc we taped to the relevant top.
In that big bix don't forget the kettle!

I did this - was very organised - and then the movers packed this box first so I couldn't get to it till everything was out <facepalm>. Of course because we were still throwing some stuff in bags and boxes I didn't notice till it was too late! Grin

The same amount. Programme A will always use X litres of water. It has no idea if there's 3 mugs or 30 mugs in there.

Moving house? Amongst your emergency box to take with you in the car (kettle, mugs, coffee, milk etc) remember to take loo rolls....

nopuppiesallowed · 21/06/2023 13:24

And a few light bulbs. We moved into one house and the previous owners had taken all the light bulbs with them!

Sorry. Wrong thread....

Actually @Snippysocks your contribution to the thread is perfectly relevant looking at how it’s developed.
