To think thicker sanitary pads should still be sold?

DD, 13 is having her first period and the new "technology" leaves only very thin pads to be had. Even if they really do hold as much as the old ones, psychologically it is worrying.

I also suffer really heavy periods and swear by the bodyform comfort &protection maxi pads in the orange packet. They are thicker than normal pads but are not really long like the night ones. Hope it helps!

Sainsbury's own brand towels are substantial. I prefer them because they feel absorbent. The thin towels always feel wet. I also can't stand them being scented or having wings.

Gosh, what a strange thread.

I hate thin pads. Horrible, plasticky, uncomfortable things which don't feel like the stay in place, bunch up, and feel gross when they are filling up. Which now, in peri, feels like every ten minutes. I loathe wings, they always seem to unstick then end up welded to my leg.

I am not insane. Or damaged, stupid, old fashioned or weird. I just like a solid feeling pad in place. My DD prefers the medium weight ones too for similar reasons.

Like PP Kotex are great; the Lidl siempre regular incontinence pads are my go to. Cheap enough, slightly cupped in shape, soft and not mattress like. Discovered after a traumatic birth, but they really are good.

Tesco sell "Tesco Free Spirit Maxi Towels Night 10 Pack" 75p for 10. These are thick, long pads with no perfume in them and no wings - though they may be a bit too long and may feel bulky for a young girl.

All this - I'm also peri. I find them plasticky, insecure, rough feeling and the damn things won't stay in place at night. And don't get me started on the perfumed ones, they're an abomination

I got the mirena and reusable pads to deal with the problems I was having.
