Lettuce, tomatoes, kale, cucumber, peppers, mushrooms, spring onions, carrots, cabbage, red & white onions, leeks, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, fennel. Frozen peas & green beans. Radishes & the big daikon radishes if I can get them. Sometimes courgette, aubergine, celeriac. Apples, bananas, pears, oranges. Occasionally melons or grapes. I buy frozen berries & stuff like mango, pineapple etc - it's much cheaper & I don't have to worry about eating a whole fruit in 24 hours. Plus it's great for smoothies.
I'm a lapsed vegetarian but I still like a lot of vegetables.

I don't really eat processed food at all as some of the additives (artificial sweeteners, MSG) give me migraines. I can make soup from scratch in 15 minutes, much nicer than tinned.

AlltheFs · 11/05/2023 22:35

Cucumber-DD lives on it
Berries - strawberries, raspberries and blueberries
Grapes
Pears
Peppers
Onions, Carrots and Celery as a base
Broccoli
Peas (frozen)
Mushrooms

In season we have an apple/plum orchard so get inundated with those.

In summer the Onions, Carrots and Celery becomes mixed leaves and tomatoes.

We have DD 3.5 to accommodate, she lives on fruit and broccoli. I’m more of a veg person. We do buy other things as recipes dictate. We get a lot of tinned toms, sweetcorn and beans too.

stillbejeweled · 11/05/2023 22:35

Tomatoes, corn on the cob, peppers (not green), garlic, mushrooms and onion.
Quite a bit of broccoli and green beans too.

Fruit we buy as we fancy it because I'm terrible for letting it go bad and I'm really trying not to waste food.
I've always got frozen berries for breakfast with yoghurt
We definitely eat far more vegetables than fruit.

Okunevo · 11/05/2023 22:36

Some year round, some seasonal to this time of year, not everything every week

Tomatoes
Mushrooms
Avocado
Pineapple
Bananas
Grapefruit
Strawberries
Rhubarb

Potatoes
Onions
Garlic
Carrots
Radishes
Swiss chard
Mustard greens
Cauliflower

Always have a big jar or two of sauerkraut in the fridge and frozen peppers in the freezer.

Thelnebriati · 11/05/2023 22:37

Beansprouts, Chinese cabbage, pak choi, red cabbage, courgettes, broccoli, celery, fennel, spring onions, watercress. I also eat fresh basil and parsley as salad leaves, not just as seasoning. I eat a limited diet most people would find boring, mostly stir fry, salad & coleslaw.

Cherrysoup · 11/05/2023 22:38

Broccoli, carrots, potatoes. Don’t do fruit.

Crumpleton · 11/05/2023 22:38

I buy all the normal ingredients but find the prices rising so I'm growing as much as I can at the moment.
Cucumbers, tomatoes, beetroot
Salad leaves, water cress, rocket, and spring onions are a great success so far.

I like what I call a bit of "slop" with a salad, something a bit wet..so either make a coleslaw using the normal white cabbage, onion, carrot and Mayo.

Also make potato salad using a base of olive oil, mustard and mayo then add the warm potatoes along with sliced radish, halved grapes, chopped apple and walnuts...

Fruit wise its melons, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, grapes, Bananas and mango.

AlyssumandHelianthus · 11/05/2023 22:38

If you have the money you could try a veg box. That really mixes it up and it's always really fresh and seasonal.
We have that, plus I always have frozen peas, frozen mixed berries, frozen sliced peppers, tinned tomatoes, tinned pulses and lemons.

mynameiscalypso · 11/05/2023 22:38

We get a small veg box every week so always have potatoes and onions plus whatever else they send. Generally always have some kind of salad leaves in the fridge plus cucumber/tomatoes. Broccoli is probably our most used veg plus we have the usual stash of things in the freezer. Bananas and blueberries are our main fruits. Oh and always have a jar of kimchi on the go which I add to almost everything I eat.

FrenchBoule · 11/05/2023 22:41

mainly seasonal stuff

today I have

fruit- apples and lemons atm
veg- carrots,onions,potatoes,leeks

Circumferences · 11/05/2023 22:42

AudHvamm · 11/05/2023 22:12

Veg box schemes are a good way of trying a variety of veg, and change throughout the year if you go for a seasonal one.

😂🤣 Not round my area there shit and a total rip off.

My staples depend really, because we don't eat meat (do eat fish dairy etc) but I generally get:

1 a bunch of good salad ingredients, eg lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, spring onions, radishes, lemon for dressing. Avocado 🥑 are so great in season but rubbish half the year.

2 a bunch of good soup ingredients eg carrot, celery, red onion, Leeks, potatoes, depending on the soup plan

3 veg for main course eg Cauliflower, aubergine, sweet potato, baking potatoes, broccoli

4 fruit, I like to mix it up really. Grapes are good at the moment. Looking forward to strawberry season..

Maybe think about fruit and veg in terms of meal planning and what's in season so you don't get stuck in a rut?

CrannyFadock · 11/05/2023 22:43

Spring greens make a lovely coleslaw finely sliced as an alternative to white cabbage. It's also nice steamed with butter and pepper 😋

User1685409 · 11/05/2023 22:45

Carrots, cauliflower, green beans, broccoli, courgettes, onions
apples pears, grapes, figs, mango, raspberries, bananas, plums,
tomatoes, lettuce cucumber beetroot,
we always get rhubarb which we force and golden beetroot out of the garden as it is hard to find in the supermarket

AtleastitsnotMonday · 11/05/2023 22:51

Every week regardless of meal plan (so might be for lunches or snacks or with dinner)

Red onions
Red peppers
Carrots
celery
Cucumber
Cauliflower
Lettuce
Broccoli (mostly for dinner)
Baby plum tomatoes

Tinned sweetcorn

Apples
Mixed grapes
Honey dew melon

We always have frozen peas in the freezer and pickled beetroot and gherkins, tinned water chestnuts in the cupboard but I don't buy them every week.

The rest of the veg depends on what's on the menu plan but regulars would be

Mushrooms
White onions
Sweet potato
Green beans
Leeks
Spinach

Seasonally
Strawberries
Raspberries
Beef tomatoes

I'm a big fan of veg!
