Bath used as Bidet = clean before toddler bathes!

I feel this is a non-brainer but need to convince my other half.

Husband uses the bath as a bidet after he does his business 💩, we bathe our 2 year old in this same bath and before every bath my toddler has, I clean the bath. My husband believes there's no need for me to be cleaning it as the bath won't be dirty for the little one to bathe in because the water alone that he uses while cleaning his bum will "clean" it.

Please vote and/or give me help to persuade him I should be cleaning it before the little one bathes! 😭

I have a B&B, without bidets.
I have been asked to leave a plastic jug in the toilet for this purpose-Why can't you do this? saves him getting half naked and clambering into the bath.
It also solves any cleanliness issues.
When he has rinsed his ass I presume he then dries it? I would be more concerned about your towels tbh

I'd label it clearly so it doesn't get used in the kitchen

I can believe this as my partner used to do the same. When I first met him he had no toilet paper in the house 😯😯

Now we live in a house without a detachable shower head so that's put a stop to it

How often do you wash the showerhead..

They are flushable but not biodegradable.

By flushable do you mean you are able to flush it down the loo? Because there's lots of things you could flush but shouldn't.

gamerchick · 09/05/2023 21:47

I don't care about washing arses in the bath. It's a bath and a shower head.

I do care that there are still people out there flushing those stupid wipes. Don't flush anything that isn't puke, pee, paper and shit.

Probably gets under his bridge and washes it in the river

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Dryfield · 09/05/2023 21:53

What's the difference between washing his bum with the shower and actually having a shower?

FrostyFifi · 09/05/2023 21:55

How is this any different from washing your arse in the bath or shower a few hours after a poo?

dammiejodger · 09/05/2023 21:55

Urgh. I would also be cleaning the bath.

What a grim man.

The detail in the OPs story is so revolting that it's hard to see past it (your DH OP, not you), but this is true. It's not actually any different from those of us having a bath in the evening after having "just" used loo roll during the day. (Although the addendum about him not bothering to wipe beforehand it it's runny is admittedly beyond the pale).

katemulberrybush · 09/05/2023 22:11

Omg, just remembered how everything had a bidet in the 80s

Why? What was the obsession? It's died out now

katemulberrybush · 09/05/2023 22:12

I mean everyone not everything

FancyFanny · 09/05/2023 22:13

Your DH is so weird! However- washing bum over bath is no different to actually having a bath where you wash your bum as well as the rest of your body. Toddler is going to sit in bath too with his anus which will have poo on it too so will therefore be bathing in his own poo.

OneFlipflopleft · 09/05/2023 22:14

I m so jealous, I wish my man was clean like that! Presumably he would not let the shower head touch his bum, why would he. I would rinse and clean the bath before bathing (anyone), I always do that. Because of other dirty stuff, like skin peeling, hair, or whatevers. In this case I would extra clean the handle of the shower head. Like I clean the flush button on the toilet and the door handle, for poo hands 😊

Love the as that’s on this thread

Houseplantmad · 09/05/2023 22:18

Ad not as!

cittigirl · 09/05/2023 22:52

Buy a portable bidet. Less water wasted!

caringcarer · 09/05/2023 23:20

I just use the toilet wet wipes that say flushable on the packet.

caringcarer · 09/05/2023 23:21

We all use them in our house. Then shower in the evening.

JaniceBattersby · 09/05/2023 23:27

Just as I would feel nauseous about having a bath in a bidet, I would not be happy with someone using my bath as a bidet.

It’s different from showering because length of time taken to shower and the use of soap means the poo will be gone at the end of the shower. But a quick swill of the arse crack may result in, erm, retained crumbs around the bath.

This thread is so funny 😂😂

Surely everyone (OP and toddler included) but all of us in our households - gets in the bath to have a wash / be clean so we accept that after any use, the bath tub is not going to be perfectly clean?!

I'm not a bath person at all, but I would expect a bath to be properly cleaned after every normal use, doubly so if being used in this manner.
