Why on earth are they so uncomfortable! Why hasn't someone invented a more comfortable one? It can't be that difficult!

Unfortunately my hairdresser only uses these shit disposable "towels" now so not a lot of help from those.

Yes, mine does too.

Presumably it's much easier than washing loads of towels, so they've kept them. Same with plastic gowns.

I went into a hairdressers i didn't know in the 80s ( I think I was on holiday or something like that ) and the sinks were forwards facing ! Only time I've ever had this. It was so unique and I often wonder if they kept it like it or changed to the backwards ones.
I do find them a bit uncomfortable, but it's clearly easier for those doing the washing.

I prefer foils to the old hi lighting cap they used to use ( I know one or two places may still use them, but not where I live)
That thing was a torture.

I find them extremely painful and avoided the hairdresser for years because of it. I now kneel on the chair with my face in the sink instead. I must look ridiculous, but it's pain free. My hairdresser has also mentioned that I can wash my hair at home and leave it wet and she can dampen it again in the salon.

I find them very comfortable. I love having my hair washed and head massaged. I’m average height for a woman. I don’t know if that helps?

I noticed that my hairdressers use the disposable towels now. Maybe to cut down on washing and the electricity bill?
Although they still have to buy them of course.
