Waiting for tube this morning, I was looking at an ad, and couldn't help but wonder about the tattoo on the 'omio' advert. It looks, well, you tell me. I can read 'with intention' but what do the rest of the words say and is it a quote? What does it mean? *Is* it a dick?!

I dislike tattoos, i can appreciate the artistry in some but I always think someone would look better without them. For the most part people want to be tattooed that is up to them once they are old enough. But I don’t think people should have obscene tattoos that when they are out in public exposes children to sexual imagery, or me for that matter. I don’t want to see that either and shouldn’t have to. And no, my young daughter shouldn’t be expected to ‘not look’.

That element of rebellion against others is what drives a lot of people to get a tattoo and in choosing their design. They are trying to make a statement that they know others won’t agree with. Stating you would pay for your daughters tattoos because it will piss people off , even tongue in cheek, shows that. So why, once you have them, are you upset that not everyone likes tattoos? Some designs are good - yes I can admit that but still say I prefer no tattoos - but some are definitely vile and make no pretence not to be.

It doesn’t really matter that the tattoo is really of or if the model loves it. Sometimes angles and poses can produce weird effects.

Which is why ‘does any part of this look like a cock?’ Is the sort of thing people ask about this stuff.

I like a tattoo as much as the next person but there is something very silly about getting a tattoo of a forearm on your upper arm.

But we don't know that it's a real one - could be a temporary one for the purpose of the advertisement. After all its getting people here talking about it so fulfilling its purpose

My best friend probably has more of her skin covered in tattoos than not. As far as tatts go, they are good artwork and very professionally done, and the choice of imagery is good. I still hate tattoos though, and think they look rubbish on most people.
I can still hate tattoos but not judge the person who has them.
