To think DP is being unbelievably petty?

I'm working away this weekend with DP who is also in business with me. We live separately but have been together a long time.

We always take my caravan to this event for us both to sleep in obviously. I paid for the caravan and all associated costs eg servicing, tyres etc.

The organiser of the event has decided to start charging £10 per night for electric hook up. We are there for 4 nights. These costs come out of the business. DP has told me he doesn't need electric for Thursday night as he is taking a flask so won't need a kettle and doesn't need heating or hairdryer like me. He has told me to pay the £10 myself😱. I told him he was being unbelievably petty and he can sit in the dark cause he won't be using my caravan battery then 🤣 so he said he will sleep in his van instead. AIBU?

my fanny would clamp more tightly shut than his wallet at this level of petty tight-arse-ness. Yuck!

Isn't it fascinating how often 'jokes' are told in a way that makes them sound like anything but jokes?

It's amazing how often somebody can deliberately cause you upset but then say the magic phrase "I was only joking" as an automatic way to make it all alright for them, whilst it just adds to your discomfort.

If he had to make his unfunny little joke, you would expect him to have said it, seen the reaction and then immediately said "Not really, ho, ho ho!!!!"

As NoSquirrels said, what’s really going on. Why are you even with him? Sounds like he’s too mean to breathe out.

For his next joke he will be counting how many sheets of toilet paper you use.

Twat behaviour, OP. Keep positive and chirpy - it’ll drive him nuts.
I know this because my husband does this when I’m being a twat about something unimportant, which is quite often.

That is awful. I hate meanness.

In addition, you'd think that because he doesn't live with you then he'd want to sleep in with you when you are together. Clearly not!

This says so much about him.

Dump him!

Just realised this is an old post and that the matter was resolved.

Apologies!
