To wonder why some people don't seem to care about being ripped off?

Bought something on a selling site. Found out it was not as described so got a refund. I warned a couple of other buyers who said they were not bothered. One of the buyers who was ripped off also got a refund and went on to warn around 50 other customers, 95% of who refused to take action or even change their review. Some did change their reviews but did not want a refund.

The process of refund takes less than a minute. The seller continues to keep growing despite some bad reviews.

I thought people would care more.

I don’t even understand how you could warn other buyers? How would you know who the other potential buyers were?

I think a lot of reviews are paid for. Or they receive the item for free if they leave a good review

Did the seller claim they'd made them themselves, or did the listing just say handmade?

Lots of stuff is handmade but not necessarily by the seller.

It depends what it was.

How did you contact all these people?

Through the reviews. Another buyer who had been scammed contacted around 50 previous buyers.
