To think these are chicken pox?

30 years old. My niece has had chicken pox recently who I frequently see. I haven't had them. Being feeling a little unwell the past few days, however, I'm training for a marathon so put it down to that.

However, today I've been feeling slightly itchy and now these spots have appeared. Just on my ankle, no where else.

Does this seem like chicken pox?

Yes it's chicken pox is that what you want?

Are you qualified to say that?😂

Absolutely not😂

Unhinged? Purely stating facts. No one is qualified to say with absolute certainty that those are not chicken pox. I think they are.

100% of people when questioned would disagree 😂

KnittedCardi · 22/04/2023 11:36

p.s. Looks more like contact dermatitis to me. Have you been running around in a sweat OP ?

Kickingupmerrybehaviour · 22/04/2023 11:37

I feel qualified. I’ve had three children with different levels of chicken pox. One had them twice. Would you like me to comment op?

leepingup · 22/04/2023 11:39

Yes another has appeared under my armpit

IncessantNameChanger · 22/04/2023 11:40

That's not chicken pox lol. More like viral they come out various places if your body is feeling a little low

dementedpixie · 22/04/2023 11:42

If they aren't blistering then it doesn't sound like chicken pox. Might just be random spots or some other viral rash

Bluelightbaby · 22/04/2023 11:43

I’m not sure why you’re continuing to post on here, given your stance on ‘unqualified’ answers ! Just go and speak to a qualified person (pharmacist) face to face !!!!

When did you see your niece in relation to her chicken pox? It's only contagious 1-2 days before the spots appear (and until they crust over) and then has a 10-21 day incubation period

But you’re not happy with any of the answers !!!!

humpty74 · 22/04/2023 11:45

Look more like a reaction to contact with something to me, but if you're looking for an excuse not to do something then yes. DEFINITELY chicken pox. To bed with you and definitely none of whatever you don't want to do for 6, maybe 12 months. If anyone queries it tell them a random on Mumsnet said so. Or you could ask your GP.

Clymene · 22/04/2023 11:47

Yeah, definitely chicken pox, you're off the hook for the marathon.

(that's what you want to hear, right?)

CalloohCallayFrabjousDay · 22/04/2023 11:48

leepingup · 21/04/2023 22:01

None of you are qualified to make such assumptions. Thank you.

And that's why you shouldn't be asking for medical advice on the internet.
Visit a pharmacist or your GP Hmm

Suzi888 · 22/04/2023 11:50

Leave it a day or two and you’ll know for sure or see a G.P.
Pointless posting grainy shots on the internet, then not wanting any replies unless they say yes, definitely chicken pox.

Nobody knows. 🤷🏼‍♀️

properdoughnut · 22/04/2023 11:51

Maybe go to the pharmacist and show them your armpit

And I think I'm the one true leader of the universe and the bank are wrong when they tell me I don't have several billion in my bank account. How very dare they! I bet they never even met the last one.

Tessisme · 22/04/2023 12:12

Why did you ask @leepingup? I'm sure there are plenty of doctors on here, but most of us are just people who have seen chicken pox a few times. Oh, and I agree with pp's. They look like insect bites. I have had both chicken pox (in my forties) and gazillions of bites - insects seem to love me. But if you want to run with the chicken pox theory, knock yourself out.
