Lump down there...

Hello,

sorry posting here for traffic as I would really want to find out if this is normal or not.

So I found a lump down there. It's right in the vaginal entrance, underneath the urethral opening, and basically around the pelvic bone. It's not attached to the actual bone. It doesn't hurt, the best way I could describe it feels like a swollen lymph node. It's about a grape size but more of an oval shape.

It's movable and squashable and a normal colour. It's not a Bartholin cyst, these are more to the side and this is right in the middle. I don't think it's prolapse because it feels like the lymph node. It was larger the other week so it has changed but it is still very much there.

I am not too keen to go and flash my GP if this is normal so, do you have it as well?
BU- I don't have it
NBU - I have it

Could be a varicose vein?

BCBird · 17/04/2023 19:59

Go to the gp. I have been before when I have spotted something. It will put ur mind at rest.

CiaoBellisima · 17/04/2023 20:00

Bartholins cyst?

Could be a varicose vein?

Don't think so. It's normal colour and yeah, feels like a lymph node.

I’ve had these, reckon it’s just a gland or tiny cyst or something. They go away. Maybe give it a bit and if it gets bigger, or itchy or hard or painful or whatever then go to dr!

Bartholins cyst?

As I said in my post, I don't think that is it as those are on the side and painful.
I don't know:(

Thank you! It does feel like a gland!

Sexual health clinic could be an option? They see hundreds of vaginas every week.

TheGirlWhoLived · 17/04/2023 20:05

Could also be an ingrown hair?

Moonmelodies · 17/04/2023 20:07

Ask the experts over on the Sporners Corner thread.

Aerosarethebest · 17/04/2023 20:07

It’s likely to be something minor, like a little haemarroid or something, but it’s worrying you so go and get an actual medical opinion and rule out the scary scenarios.

No, its literally in the vaginal entrance.

Go to the gp. They’ve seen it all before.

custardbear · 17/04/2023 20:11

Honestly, the GP would have seen a tonne of genitals of all shapes and sizes as well as a tonne of weird things in and on them, so just see them. It's not going to be as bad as a smear and they're not exactly scary
Good luck

thecatsthecats · 17/04/2023 20:12

My first Bartholin cyst was painless and smaller. The second much larger and painful. I probably just missed the small and painless stage.

Regardless, I don't think the usual treatments for a BC would do any harm.

But these are more to the side, right? Not right under urethra.

Anterior wall prolapse can look like a lump. Using a mirror bear down and see if size changes

Hi, no, its completely the same. It really feels like a lymph node

Put your mind at rest and go to your gp.

You can’t get a diagnosis on mumsnet.

I’m sure it’s nothing, but better to be safe.

Chocolatefrenzy · 17/04/2023 20:42

Any urinary symptoms? But I agreee with the others, time for the GP who will be very used to looking down below, please don't be embarrassed, ask for a female if it makes it easier

When it was bigger, I felt the need to go more often. But that is now gone and there are no symptoms.
Thank you. I will make an appointment, but it's really hard to get the time so was hoping that others have it as well, that it's just a gland or something.

Get it checked!

AskingForAFriend12 · 17/04/2023 21:21

Yeah guys, I know. My question was if you have it or not. I know I should go in. Although that is easier said than done.

Pudmyboy · 17/04/2023 21:23

Skene’s gland cyst can happen to any female and is even something a baby can be born with. These cysts may not cause symptoms, but if they do, they can be treated. They are located near your urethral opening and can interfere with urination.
Possibly this?

Chickensoup88 · 17/04/2023 21:23

No I don't have it!

And as for going to the doctor it should not feel weird, it should feel relieving as you are going to find out what's wrong, at least for me that's how I feel.

How old are you?
