I’m 5ft 2 and 11 stone, looking to lose weight discreetly without making a big fuss about it. I know the formula is eat less move more but I just wondered if anyone had any tips of little changes they made that made a difference? I’ve started cutting out dessert and stopping snacking between meals but are there any other subtle tweaks I can make that might help? Don’t want to make a big thing of it or I’ll be forced to join the calorie counting brigade at work and also don’t want to talk about diets at home, dd is possibly asd and funny with food. Thank you xx

I found some small changes made big difference. Any phone calls (work or personal) I popped my headphones in and walked. Either in the garden, for a walk or up and down the living room. I went from doing 4k on an office day to 10k, then 15k, 20k etc. I started home workouts too, just 15 mins a day to start with. Soon realised they made me feel better mentally. The food then follows. I find once I start to see progress I’m spured on. I like data and apps, so I logged my food on MFP, got a Fitbit, got scales that have an app. All those things got me in the zone which made it easier

@StoneColdAlibi thank you. I think I might try this

Has anyone any tips on reducing sugar?

Thanks for this thread! I’m currently meal planning for maximum protein add I think it’s the approach that suits me best. I need about 115g a day. I do try to be mostly veggie but think I’d struggle to hit my target so will be having more meat while I see if this works.

Oh come on ladies we can do better than this. Where are the handy little hints? Dig out your old Woman's Own stash and get sharing.

Cut a mars bar into slices and freeze them, then enjoy one with a cuppa to stay within your cals 😊

If you eat fish that can be great for protein and low cal. It might be more palatable if you aren’t used to lots of meat.
