That's it really.

Which tint would you recommend so I don't look like I have catapillars stuck on my face

Its so easy

Oblomov23 · 15/04/2023 23:02

@JaneJeffer

I was responding to potato who said it was a "massive risk". That a number of other posters have a have responded to.

Grumpi · 15/04/2023 23:06

Zero risk if you follow the instructions (including a patch test).

No offence to any beauty therapists out there but you don’t need to be brain of Britain to apply some fairly low level dye to approx 2 inches of your face.

Watch a few YouTube vids, read the instructions and build the time up, you can always apply more / in stages.

Nothing wrong with getting them done at salon but with the products you can buy on high street / Amazon, you can do your own for 1/5th of the salon price.

JaneJeffer · 15/04/2023 23:09

Ok @Oblomov23 that wasn't clear

evilharpy · 15/04/2023 23:18

I use Dybrow, same stuff on brows and lashes. I use dark brown and leave it 12 minutes. Could not be easier. If you get a bit on your skin, fake tan remover gets it off.

I really want to try a DIY lash lift but have never been brave enough.

WomanFromTheNorth · 15/04/2023 23:19

It's really easy. Eyelure off Amazon. You can't fuck it up. I wouldn't do eyelashes though...

HolidaysSunnyDays · 15/04/2023 23:25

Refectocil. Easy peasy. 10 mins tops. It's the brand my beauty therapist uses, I've used it for years. Read the instructions properly, and it's a doddle.

tarobubbletea · 15/04/2023 23:43

Very easy to do yourself .. if you end up with caterpillar brows due to stained skin just scrub it with Micellar water on a cotton pad and it comes off! I do this every time and they come out great lol

tarobubbletea · 15/04/2023 23:46

Eyelashes are fine, until you have to remove the tint.... but hey beauty is pain 😂

Can anyone recommend an alternative product to use if I have very little eyebrow hair? Someone above said Eyelur comes off the skin very quickly and I'd love something I can apply that would last longer than a basic eyebrow pencil that's applied daily and smudges off, esp in warm weather.

Henna dyes stain the skin, though I don't think anything would remain makeup-dark for weeks on end. My brows are reasonably sparse and look properly filled in for a week or so, fading over the next 1 or 2

sociallubricant · 16/04/2023 08:43

I do mine every month. I just use a Just for Men mid brown beard dye and mix up a tiny amount ..I have been using the same box for about two years so it literally costs pennies each time. Never had a disaster.

astarsheis · 16/04/2023 09:06

I do mine with mens beard dye. Use medium brown, my hair is dark blonde.
Just mix a bit and dab it on either with a spooly or a cotton bud.
Cheap too because you get multiple applications from one box.
Youtube is your friend for this

suzyscat · 16/04/2023 09:44

Brows are super easy to do at home.

Colour spot dye brow is great. But just start at 2-3 minutes instead of the full 5.

BeginningToLookALotLike · 16/04/2023 09:50

Any recommendations for a PPD-free and a toluene-free eyebrow tint please?

waterlego · 16/04/2023 10:22

Interested to see so many recommendations for Just For Men for eyebrows. Has anyone used it on lashes?

Jagoda · 16/04/2023 10:30

I am tempted to use just for men, but how do you know/judge how much to mix?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I am dyspraxic and struggle with stuff like this.

TheProvincialLady · 16/04/2023 10:30

I use Apraise professional eyelash and eyebrow tint (light brown 3.1) which I bought on eBay. It couldn’t be easier. I don’t bother with Vaseline and I have never dyed my skin. Not sure how you could do it “the wrong shape” - it’s meant to be hair dye, not a tattoo.

Absolutely do not put any hair dye on your lashes as it could get into your eyes. Only use specifically made eyelash dye !

It comes with instructions but I squeeze a cm from each tube snd mix.

Thank you @ClaraBourne. Good advice!

Which one do you use ?

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 16/04/2023 14:36

Eyebrow dyeing is such a cinch. I use Refectocil and my tube has just run out after about two years. I don't bother with Vaseline, I just mix it up (about a cm of dye and 5-10 drops of developer) splodge it on my brows with a cotton bud and leave for about 3 mins. Any staining on the skin (very little) is gone in about 24 hours.

This!
I use Just Men. Use equal dollops from each tube. You really do not need much.
