To think ‘rose quartz’ does not describe a lingerie shade

i get that “nude” was not inclusive. Totally. But a bra is just light beige. Rose quartz isn’t even a colour!

id change them to better names. What was nude for white people is mid beige? Or just numbers?

any better ideas?

fir those obviously too lazy to read the thread, I did say right at the beginning that I encourage inclusivity in bra colours.

Not sure, though the quartz describes anything.

Im with you. They tights follow this colour naming too and FFS I have no idea what the hell they are talking about.

Give me pale, nude, tan etc and I know where I’m at. Opaline?!? No clue.

Opaline - untannable anaemic celt - out of date turkey thigh - milk frother needs cleaning. I can see why they went for opaline.

I think the original point was the nude was a very white subjective shade.

And cocoa and stuff was not exactly inclusive. There must be a better way that is inclusive and also accurate.

You know how when you work for a big company they have corporate colurs and they give you the numbers for red blue and green to put into the colour formatter to get the right shade?

I think we should be able to do that with tights and underwear

That way when I have worked out that I am 232/220/202 I can just order my underwear in that colour

Aintnosupermum · 12/04/2023 01:07

I like the numbers idea. I’d have a better clue. Opaline?!? Really? It’s quite a dark color compared to my legs too. The alternative would be calling the different colors milk, weak tea, strong tea and coffee.

LadyEloise1 · 12/04/2023 12:48

If they called the colours milk, weak tea, strong tea and coffee as @Aintnosupermum suggests we'd know exactly what colour they were. 😂

Sleepyandconfused · 12/04/2023 13:05

I can imagine the exact colour based on the name ‘rose quartz’

My Rose Quartz bra from M&S is not the same colour or anything like the colour of the small piece of Rose Quartz stone I have.
The small piece of stone is a pale pink. The bra is pale coffee coloured

Yes - I don't need to imagine, I know what colour the stone is, but unfortunately the colour M&S is calling 'rose quartz' is nothing like it.
