It doesn’t matter is it’s still patchy and a bit yellow because you can now sow some seeds, water it and make sure it thrives. That’s much better than staying where someone else’s dog is always pissing on the grass and there’s no possibility of it growing.

The grass is absolutely flourishing over here. 2 best decisions I ever made - leave the ExH and marry the DH.
Left the ex more than happy to be alone with my DS. Then met now DH and could not be happier. I think it helped that when I met DH, I was happy and content by myself, I didn't need a man, but I wanted this one.
