Does anyone go there anymore? 😉

OP posts:
MajorCarolDanvers · 01/04/2023 09:21

Yes but we go in term time as I'm unwilling to pay the prices they charge during school holidays.

MajesticWhine · 01/04/2023 09:22

We went in Feb. It was very pleasant. But we don't do the other thing.

Bells3032 · 01/04/2023 09:27

Been twice in the last year and loved it but went outside of school holidays. I think a weekend there is enough though

Coffeeandcrocs · 01/04/2023 09:30

We got back yesterday from a mon-friday trip to the Longleat Center Parcs! Took DD out of school for tues/weds/thurs ( inset day on the Friday anyway ) as we'd never pay school holiday prices. Went with DH, MIL, FIL, DD(8) and DS ( 3 & 1 ).

Lodge itself wasn't too expensive. 4 bed for £600. Food was very expensive to eat out and buy there but we took a shop with us which reduced the cost. Pool was brilliant, especially for DD. Activities also good too but again expensive.

Not sure I'd make it a regular trip but was nice as a one off.

Slimjimtobe · 01/04/2023 09:34

We’ve been and are going again but I book in term time (on a weekend when there is an in service and bank hol) and we bring our own grocery shop and do so many paid activities

ilovesooty · 01/04/2023 09:40

Never been before but going for a night in May to Aqua Sana with a friend.

DustyLee123 · 01/04/2023 09:46

It’s fine if you share the cost with another family, but if not it’s too expensive.
And it’s fine for little kids, but my teens don’t want to go.

CampervanKween · 01/04/2023 09:53

We go every January (cheapest time), kids love it, even my eldest came back from university to come with us thisyear. We go with another family, self cater and do a few activities. My friend and I do the spa Sunday morning. We always have a lovely time.

Not a fan of the other tbh 😎

Bournetilly · 01/04/2023 10:00

Yes once or twice a year. I used to go every year as a child.

QuertyGirl · 01/04/2023 10:04

I thought that the Spa was the worst rip off - £200 for some hot, damp rooms with different perfumes in.

Wouldn't bother again

Nottodaty · 01/04/2023 10:04

We used to go either Easter or May half term. Haven’t been back the last couple of years due to costs. Shame as we did enjoy the short break as a family and have some lovely memories. I can’t justify the cost for what it is.

Thisismyusernamefornow · 01/04/2023 13:12

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 01/04/2023 06:37

Used to go but now can’t afford it because £1500 is a lot for 3 days in a swimming pool.

Grin LOLS

Pascha · 01/04/2023 13:14

We last went 2 years ago. I'd happily go again but it's too expensive and we are priced out now.

mrssunshinexxx · 01/04/2023 14:58

Yes going in sep for third time in 2 years with a young family see it being a yearly tradition and when they start school wil do fri to mon and drive up after school on the Fri and just keep them off school the Monday

Showdogworkingdog · 01/04/2023 15:33

Used to share a big villa with DM, DS and kids every October half term from when they were babies until about age ten or so but the prices kept going up so for the last few years we’ve stayed in a dog friendly cottage at the seaside somewhere instead. Last Sept we went back for the first time in years, we enjoyed it, but it was noticeable there’s less to do once the kids are older. The pool and rapids are great for an hour or so but then that’s enough. What was also noticeable was how much busier it was everywhere- they’ve built loads more villas so the pool was permanently packed. Don’t think we’ll bother again tbh.

We live right near one. Went regularly as a youngster and my first weekend job was in one of the treat shops there.

It was pretty cheap, and the whole thing (bar the huts in the woods) was under a huge glass dome, so you could go in December and the dome was like 27c it was great.

Then the dome burned down. And it was just shit then. And that's what all the others have apparently been like since day 1 Confused

The accommodation is terrible. Tiny foam type sofas. Far from luxurious. Have stayed in more executive lodges and the cheaper ones. All pants for the price.

Food? On-site restaurants are durge. If you are thrilled by a less competent Café Rouge than the one you find on the high street, then CP is for you.

And what gets me the most, is that nothing is included! That premium price is just for the terrible accommodation! Bowling? That's £45 please. For a shitter version of the local bowling alley with proper facilities, where they charge £22.

The pools are good. They can have that.

I can not fathom why anyone would actively choose CP. We can afford it. Most can. But I hate bad value, and that's all it represents now.

forgotmyusername1 · 01/04/2023 16:03

We went to potters last year
Cheaper than centre parks and included All food and drink including alcohol plus activities included. Kids loved it

supersonicginandtonic · 01/04/2023 16:55

I much prefer butlins to centre parcs. The European centre parcs are much better value, I love them

SleeplessWB · 18/04/2023 20:45

We go on lots of caravan / haven type holidays but find center Parcs offers something different - no cars, peaceful forest. Kids love the pool and spend hours there. Come back feeling very relaxed every time.

CheeseLouisePlease · 18/04/2023 20:51

I remember someone here once compared it to going to stay at a municipal sports centre and I can’t think of it another way.
I thought the pool and the accommodation was grubby. DH said it was depressing 😂

DrMeredithGrey2023 · 18/04/2023 20:52

We go every year in December for the winter wonderland.

It's probably our favourite break of the year - although we were pissed off with the temp of the pool the last time we went!

We do a couple of Xmas activities, eat out once or twice and take a big shop with us for the rest of the time.

rebekahnorris · 18/04/2023 20:54

Soooooo expensive!!!!

interesting that it was all under a dome originally as I used to think it was like that 😆
have been 4 times but kids aren’t children anymore so not interested!

Kay286 · 18/04/2023 20:56

@Seashor wow the treehouses are crazy money though aren’t they ?! Probably can go to Maldives for the same 🤣

CampervanKween · 18/04/2023 23:16

Talking of domes, over Easter we went to Tropical islands just outside Berlin. An enormous dome with a Tropical rainforest inside plus pools slides beaches accommodation. Was open 24/7 I think. Kids loved it. I lay on a lounger in tropical temperatures and fully relaxed 😌
