What songs make you mad?

My local radio station have started playing What Would You Do? (City High song) a lot. It makes me mad everytime I hear it. It makes me even madder because it sticks in your head.

It's about a man going to a party with strippers. Then finding out one stripper is a single mum forced into prostitution and was sexually abused as a child. He gets all judgy about how she's letting herself and child down. No offers of help or solutions, no criticising the failure of the child's druggy dad, just lots of mysognony and vicgim shaming of her trying to look after her child. Also, he fails to see the irony that he/his friends are enjoying her striping and it's only an issue because he knew her at school. The other strippers are still just meat.

Grrr.

What songs make you mad but Just. Won't. Die?

I should dislike Jolene by Dolly Parton. She's so pathetic in it; begging the mistress to let her have "her man" back because she can't survive without him. But I really like it🤣.

Can't stand Islands in the stream though.

I'm a huge music fan there's not much I don't like but I absolutely can not stand Would I lie to you - Charles and Eddy and Turn back time - Cher. They both literally make me stick my fingers in my ears and scream, played to death on local radio station, urrrrrggghhh.

I can't listen to "it wasn't me" really upsets me.

This really confused me to start, although I don't dislike it. I can't decide if it was destined for a Trolls soundtrack or similar, or whether she's just in a much better place personally than in some of her old songs, so it's more cheerful.

I saw a clip of TOTP with Charles and Eddy, and inexplicably I still remembered every word of the song.

In Denmark there are advent tv shows. One episode every day of advent, big finale on Xmas Eve. All very hyggelig. I think it was 2014 and the theme song was for Tidsrejsen (time travel). I have a visceral reaction to it and I don't know why.

I thought it was more if your life is shit you're not alone.

I hate crap cover versions of great songs - All Saints covering Under the Bridge, or Robson and Jerome and Gareth Gates and their covers of Unchained Melody, for example.

There are individual songs that make me cross, but the entire genre of EDM makes me furious. It upsets my nervous system and makes me really angry. All of it. I absolutely hate it.
