This is nowhere close to the actual realities. Protestants, including those in GB and the ROI will also pronounce it as "haitch".

In reality, "haitch" is rapidly overtaking "aitch", especially amongst young people, including in GB.

I said 'Irish people and Northern Irish people' (meaning that there are people in both of those categories who say 'haitch'). I'm pretty sure that covers Irish Protestants!

My pil's, who are very catholic, are the only people I know who put their toaster away in the press.

The only person I know who does it is a clean freak Catholic, but she's in a <sucks air through teeth> mixed marriage so maybe she gets it from the in-laws.

I always put my toaster back in the cupboard. It looks tidier! Watching that episode of Derry Girls was the first inkling I had that I was a secret Protestant.
