To wait for my cheek filler to dissolve

I got cheek filler 2 weeks ago. I am a very slim person and my face looked a little skeletal.. Well now it looks skeletal with 2 protruding lines along on my cheek bones.
I went back to see the Dr who did it (she's fully accredited with the BCAM) and she said hmmm yes, you need more filler in the apples of your cheeks this time.
I so don't want more I don't even like how it feels under the skin, let alone the worry of getting a giant face.
I've read awful things about the enzyme that supposedly removes filler - ie it destroys lots of the other facial components and leaves way way more saggy skin.
Wibu to just hope this will go away in a few months' time? I know the rhetoric that you need it topped up every 6 months to a year, but can anyone corroborate from personal experience or expertise?

Could you post a picture and blur out any identifying bits. I'm sure it would help people work out what's normal. Lots of woman on here have had filers and could advise.

I will try. Its tricky because it can look fucking awful in photos, but I looked pretty awful before as well. And it can looks ok when I'm made up and right angle etc.

In the flesh it's so different, I'm very unphotogenic !

So they didn't even give you the sticker of what they injected in case of allergic reaction? This is a big reg flag, very unprofessional and dangerous.

As consolation, it's still early days, lump will settle down and result might be more subtle. I'd give it 2 more weeks and then see if you like it. Fillers don't dissolve on their own quickly, so if you're unhappy, they should dissolve it with injection.

I've had some dodgy cheek fillers, trust me, it will gradually calm down. I really wouldn't bother with dissolver

Get it removed. I've seem several episodes of Botched and they say more often than not the filler doesn't dissolve over time. Concentrate on general health/self esteem instead. You're perfect as you naturally are OP.

Not my area of expertise, but remember a former colleague who used to do fillers saying something about a little in multiple areas working best, but it does depend on individual's pain thresholds.

She was part of a sort of group insurance scheme and clients could access other experts if she wasn't available. Might be worth checking to see if your practitioner has anything similar.

Just sharing my experience. I had tear trough fillers dissolved with hyaluronidase. In my case there were no adverse effects and I wasn’t left with saggy skin. Just went back to how I looked previously.

I had filler a few years ago which looked horrendous at first. I genuinely felt embarrassed going out, it looked completely unnatural and ridiculous, and also very obvious!

Within 3 months it had settled down slightly and within a year I looked normal again. The filler is still there now 3 years later, but it actually compliments my face now rather than looking stupid.

Swelling after fillers can last a few weeks, so I’d give it a good few weeks (or longer if you can manage) before making any choices about dissolving, which comes with its own risks. I’d definitely avoid getting even more filled to try and ‘even it out’ as it might just make the problem worse and then you will have to wait even longer for it to become more normal looking.

It will deffo dissolve over time. Fillers are not permanent

But they can last years. It's not what they're trying to tell us that they dissolve after 6moths/year and you need to come back for top up regularly. I had lip filler done in September 2021 and my lips still look nice. I might go for top up around this time next year and I think it will be absolutely fine to have result that I want.

My advice would be to contact "Consultant Clinic" for advice. They have clinics across the world, all fully qualified doctors. Perhaps take a look at their very good Instagram page. It shows not only the cosmetic work they do themselves but the pro-bono work they do to correct cosmetic failures from other places and also things like cleft palettes etc.

They will give you unbiased advice on whether things have been done incorrectly or whether it needs to settle down etc. They seem to genuinely care about people getting the best advice possible. That would be my first stop for cosmetic advice. I've followed them for years and their values seem consistent.

This sounds very much like an advertisement and I would step well away. They'll just try to sell you something more.

Don't worry, it will settle over time. It takes a few weeks but it relaxes and becomes much more natural. And over even more time, it will dissolve (ignore whoever said it might now, filler always breaks down).

Please just get it dissolved , it takes a very long time for it to go away years in fact fillers are so long lasting these days it doesn’t just disappear quickly , I’ve never had a problem with dissolver looks like she’s either put way to much in or in the wrong places it does take 2 weeks to settle though depending on when you had the procedure done

Have you seen OP response? Why are you giving her false hope? It won't dissolve in 2 months or so, and she's clearly hoping it will go away soon, which you know won't happen if you ever had fillers done.

I’ve PM’d you @Absobloody. He has a 3-4 weeks waiting list for a consultation at the private clinic. NW so maybe too far for you, but other surgeons will have similar setups.

If I had any money I would have him do my face!

I think people who suggest it will be a few months are not being accurate. Incidentally, this plastic surgeon who was renowned in certain circles for his natural looking results tokd me he absolutely refused to do large cheek amounts on the basis that it didn't look good as I was earnestly explaining I wanted minimal work and no big lips or cheeks. I'd not getting any more filler try g to improve matters. I'd find a specialist to dissolve them.

Thanks. I've also read doing a mumsnet search of people for whom its disappeared within weeks (leaving them very annoyed as they liked it).
I've heard it's to do with metabolism and mine is very fast so perhaps there is hope.
I'm not sure the dr used large cheek amounts - I believe it was 2ml altogether.
Have you seen the patient experiences eg on realself of the dissolver? It seems like that can cause awful issues itself...

6-12 months that would be ideal too.

Tbh even though you don’t need it - if anything I would say the nurse was probably right about more filler in the apples of your cheeks to compliment the other - because were your saying the filler looks bad actually looks good to me
