To think Netflix offerings are poor?

I seem to have watched everything worth watching on Netflix. Now all I see is films and programmes that are just junky. Even scrolling through New on Netflix shows only dross. And they do not have many classic films, so there is not even that option to fall back on.
Netflix subscribers have fallen because the offering is so poor.

It is quite young adulty I agree. The things on my list are Lockwood&Co, Umbrella Academy, Lupin, Troll and RRR, all of which are either YAish or subtitled.

I am really enjoying Lockwood and Co, and I am 68 so not exactly a YA. I loved the books too.

Thanks I think the solution from PPs to switch regularly is a good one. I'm just a bit too lazy / busy to do it.

I used to think that but then considered all the time I wasted scrolling through all the streaming services I pay for. I spent some time reviewing my subs, then cancelling some.

CallieQ · 06/02/2023 16:07

Agree!

I rotate streaming services so that when I go back to a service then there's plenty to catch up on. At the moment I'm watching Disney plus which isn't as child orientated as the name suggests.

Aquarius1234 · 19/02/2023 16:36

Netflix originals are so shit. I spend more time looking then giving up.

I will probably pop back to Netflix for a month when the Luther film is released, then I can watch anything I may have missed in the meantime, I doubt there will be much...

MrsRickAstley · 19/02/2023 16:45

I LOOOVE Netflix. It's unlikely I'll ever cancel.

JMSA · 19/02/2023 16:50

I've watched some cracking stuff on Netflix. In fact, I can't say I've ever struggled to find something.

User18936572 · 19/02/2023 16:57

I couldn't find much at all, I have all the other streamers and Sky and I can usually find quite a bit to watch on them but I kept starting things on Netflix but they were all a bit rubbish, the only things I watched last year were Ozark and the Crown.

Every single time I got to cancel Now TV they offer me 6 months at £5pm so I put a reminder in my calendar to do that every time. Netflix sometimes do similar but as a PP said. If you're fed up with it. Cancel for a bit and then rejoin later probably with a decent price.

I cancelled via my phone and couldn't see any £ 5 deals per month.
I was always 9.99 plus boost to get HD. Shame it costs extra.

User18936572 · 19/02/2023 17:01

Yes I always have the HD one but at £10.99 it's a lot more than the other streaming services like Apple and you get UHD with them, I wasn't interested in being able to use two devices to watch as only me watches it anyway.

StillWantingADog · 19/02/2023 17:06

Was saying the same to my dh last night

in the past there has been some very good stuff, but as pp said it was bought in whereas now the new stuff seems to be their own content and is just so middle of the road.

back in the day stuff like The Crown and House of Cards alone were worth the subscription. Am thinking of cancelling and trying Apple TV for a while.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 19/02/2023 17:06

I unsubscribed last year when the subscription went up and tbh I haven’t missed it one bit. I think next one I’ll ditch maybe prime

InFiveMins · 19/02/2023 17:27

I haven't watched anything on Netflix since Christmas (I watched The Grinch and another Christmas type movie that I've forgotten the name of!). We only keep the subscription going because DP watches quite a few series on there. I do think the quality has gone downhill - nothing has taken my fancy for ages.

Iamnotanugget · 19/02/2023 18:05

I've cancelled Netflix as I'm frustrated with them cancelling everything after 1/2 series. I also think a lot of the stuff for younger viewers is shit. We have Now TV at the moment as there was a good offer on
