Not to believe Johnson about Putin

Does anyone? Doesn't it seem odd he has suddenly told this story? Is he just being wheeled out to deflect from Zahawi? Is he just trying to get attention? Or has he just remembered the story and feels it needs to be told?

So, IABU - brave Johnson, must have been a bit scary to get a phone call like that
IANBU - load of piffle to distract us all

Having watched the program that this one sentence was taken from, and seeing Putin lying to other world leaders with impunity, I would have to say I believe BoJo

And that's not something I thought I would say

I think it’s entirely plausible that Putin said that. He is an evil bastard and his stock in trade is menacing and threatening Western leaders.

On the other hand you can tell Boris is lying when his lips are moving. So for Boris it was presumably a “safe” lie in that it’s plausible and impossible to disprove.

Six of one and half a dozen of the other.

I also think that it is interesting that peskov hasn't denied any of the comments and allegations made in the other 2hours, 59 minutes and 50 seconds of the programme.

Johnson lies all the time, so he can't be that surprised when people believe Putin over him (and I never thought I'd take Putin's word for anything tbh!) I've seen a clip of him talking about it and even on that, he said something about words to that effect so yep, he's lying as usual. His interpretation of events can't be trusted.
