That Victoria Beckham is actually not ageing?

Love her or loathe her how is she looking so young?

Even with plastic surgery, great facials, Botox etc etc you normally see age around eyes, sagging skin on neck and chest, changes in tone and texture on skin.

But she looks about 25! She doesn’t have a wrinkle on her and that’s with being incredibly slim which is normally quite ageing close up. Her body is as youthful as her face.

She is the same age as me and I alway regret not having better skincare when I see her but I just do not know how she looks that good.

AIBU to be impressed even though I know she’s spent a fortune in time and money on herself.

Not sure about stomach surgery, btw. I'm a similar build to VB and it was just genetic good luck that I didn't get an "apron" or whatever after having children (had vaginal births and C sections). We don't know what she did or didn't do to her stomach, but I can see why she didn't want to use having children or being nearly 50 as reasons to give in to "middle-aged spread". Even if that just means not eating crap or not over-eating.

Princesspollyyy · 30/01/2023 19:55

I don't think she looks that great.

I agree - saying a woman looks 25 is supposed to be a compliment, because it's such a crime to be 48 or whatever.
That's the real problem, natural ageing is such a problem in this society.

spuddel · 30/01/2023 19:58

I think she looks 'peaky' and a bit brittle, frail almost. Very pretty lady though. I didn't really notice much aging on myself until I turned 50, last period around the same time.

Keyansier · 30/01/2023 19:59

Two words: Bianca Lawson.

MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake · 30/01/2023 19:59

This made me laugh.

VB being all uber-fashionista striking a pose and Dave looking like a plumber who'd rather be doing anything else than having his photo taken.

Tons and tons of research studies have shown that being a low weight doesn’t age people as much. I’m not advocating being underweight, just a healthy BMI or whatever sensible measure you use. And plastic surgery obvs.

mumofthemonsters808 · 30/01/2023 20:02

She does not look 25, are you her Agent ?, all the money in the world could not take decades off a 48 year old.I’m not being nasty or jealous , she looks her biological age and there is nothing wrong with that.

I agree. I don’t think she looks healthy and youthful at all. She looks frail and brittle to me too, like she has osteoporosis or something. I do like her but that look is not something I would ever aspire to. I think women who don’t restrict so harshly and focus on building healthy muscle mass age far better (eg J lo for example).

I'd be really interested to see that. Can you link to some?

To be fair I've seen David's looks come in for a lot of criticism recently with regard to his Botox and hair pieces.

And the, you know, taking money off rampantly homophobic / misogynistic regimes thing.

Apparently being a tiny wee bit overweight helps - not much, let's say a BMI of 26/27 rather than 25.

Can't find the citation, though, so you'll just have to believe me on this one.

Sure, but this thread is about their looks.

ssd · 30/01/2023 20:08

I read she takes incredible care of herself

ChocChipOwl · 30/01/2023 20:09

Just remember that every story she shares on Instagram will have a filter on it. Simple as that

Viviennemary · 30/01/2023 20:10

I googled some photos of her. Some are good but in others she has that masked look like Sharon Osbourne.

Genevieva · 30/01/2023 20:10

In real life these people mostly look dreadful because the surgery leaves scars and the make up looks too heavy. The search for the elixir of eternal youth is an obsession as old as Time. It is as much a folly now as it ever was.

I have naturally fair hair and a light complexion. So, while I am doing well on the natural hair colour front, any white hairs won't be massively visible when they turn up. However, I do have to be careful of the sun and I am sure my skin will age faster than people with a bit more protective melanin. It is swings and roundabout.

Highdaysandholidays1 · 30/01/2023 20:11

If you google her at 25 you will see she looks ridiculously young and not similar to now. I think she looks fab for her age, has had a lot of work, but retained a great 'look' of herself about her. She's prepared to eat extremely lightly, exercise a lot and seems a fun person in real life even if it doesn't come across on camera. She looks good but not 25, obviously. No 48 year olds look 25.

Blueisthecolor · 30/01/2023 20:12

I think she looks in her 40's! She certainly does not look 25. She doesn't look youthful just full of face fillers, Botox etc.

OriGanOver · 30/01/2023 20:13

I do like her and I think she looks good.

I think having an eating disorder and being in the spotlight must be awful. I like how private she is and also think she's funny. The video someone linked with her fashionista and DB being a plumber is hilarious.

BasiliskStare · 30/01/2023 20:14

That photo posted above she looks ( to me ) way older than 48. - and not in a good way - looks like lots of procedures. But she has a slim figure which will look younger in general in the right clothes. Photographs for the general public she will choose which ones. But her choice

Maireas · 30/01/2023 20:16

It certainly doesn't come across on camera, @Highdaysandholidays1 - she looks perpetually miserable and mardy.
However, she may well be tremendous fun in private, she just doesn't show it much on her face.

MermaidEyes · 30/01/2023 20:17

Everyone sees looks differently. Personally I don't find her at all attractive, never have, she does look her age, plus she has a very hard brittle look about her. My idea of someone a similar age who looks bloody amazing, and young, is Katheryn Winnick (from Vikings).

I read once that she’s very self conscious about her smile and hates it hence the permanent pouty moody look.

shame as I think she has a lovely smile and it lights her face up much better than the pursed lips look

The National Institute of Aging has lots on this. Couple of papers here:
