AIBU to remove all the bins and cones reserving parking spaces?

I'm getting thoroughly fed up with drivers in my area 'reserving' space outside their houses with cones or bins. The bins create awful obstructions on the pavements for people who are pushing buggies or are disabled. But personal grump is it means I can't park anywhere near my own house even though there are 5 spaces nearby being 'reserved'.

I've reported to council, nothing happens. I moved a bin out of desperation the other evening and a woman come out of her house and shouted at me not to touch her bin as she was keeping the space for her husband.

My only idea at the moment is to dress in black with hood up, face covering on and take all the bins and cones to one end of the road when it's dark. AIBU or do you have any other crafty ideas for me?

Residents tend to do this if people are constantly using their streets to park on near their workplace

Why don't they push to have it made into a permit holders zone? I do think on roads like this it would be better if they were permit holders only and the space out front reserved for that house.

We had works done ONCE and weput bins on that one day because we needed the worker's van to be able to park in front, and someone reported us and we got a letter from the council asking us to not to di again, why is your council not doing the same I have no clue.

Problem solved! Letters finally came through from the council warning people about not leaving things on the road and bins and cones have stopped. I can park again!

That’s great news!

There used to be a guy who constantly did this to save a space on our road. He didn't actually live on the road, but round the corner. None of the residents of the road save spaces, except for a specific instance, in which case they generally tape a note to the bin/cone.

The residents of the street got into the habit of taking the bins round to his house every time they passed on foot. It took a while but he eventually gave up.

I used to so this to my neighbours. I used to pike any cones into my car and take them to the tip the next day or I'd drive into the cones and squash them. Such entitled CF behaviour.
