Education is a factor in Brexit? Considering we joined what became the EU in 1973, a hell of a lot of the "nasty racist thicky" leave voters were therefore educated whilst we were members.

But everything was better under the EU of course.

The more highly educated, the fewer people voted leave. Very few graduates voted leave and far fewer older people are graduates. I thought everyone knew this, it was all over the news in 2016.

Education is a factor in Brexit?
Yes.
You can look at all of the factors in Brexit and education is one of them.
This is simply factual.

This has been really well documented. The higher the level of education someone had, the more likely they were to have voted remain.

There is some crossover with the age factor, and I'd hope they adjusted for this in the stats, as the correlation could skew things. Young people are more likely to be educated to a higher level than older people due to a higher percentage going to college/uni these days.

l worked with my local university in this. Yes, education was the biggest deciding factor.

No it wasn't at all but at least we could leave the UK and work in Europe, you lot have stopped that.... and also stopped EU workers coming here to work in the NHS which you well need...

A BIG well Done!!!! Cake

@Untitledsquatboulder in my 1979 cohort (obviously i didn't know every single 16yo) you had o level qualified kids working in construction carpentry, electrical, accountancy, Devonport dockyard, health, secretarial, law, NRA, SWWA, SWEB (many different options) employers were far more willing to take on young people, i lost my job in 1981, i thought i d easily get another... nope, it was all YTS or other similar schemes, for school leavers or older workers...

After one or two of these 6 month schemes, i did more O levels at evening class for free and went to FE a couple of years later... again for free, i never have had the sense to have done that if it had meant '000s in debt and having no money.

A huge positive change from then is that females can do technical roles, this rarely happened in the 70s or even the 80s.

And the amount of times l was asked if l was ‘intending to have children’ at interviews

i was asked this in 2004. When i said no he replied...... "why? dont you like responsibility"

There's a well known, well documented and very strong correlation between lower educational attainment and voting for Brexit, the lower and fewer your qualifications the more likely you are to have been a Brexit voter in all age groups.

The very oldest bands of voters were educated at a time when you could leave school at 14.

I don't know how big a factor cognitive decline in pensioners was in the Brexit vote, but pensioners are more likely to be a victim of scams than the general population.
