same as you.

Cigarettesaftersex1 · 17/01/2023 15:45

Usually Jet2 for flights and Booking.Com for accommodation, always reliable and never had any issues

Datgal · 17/01/2023 15:47

I've been doing a bit of looking recently and nothing really came close to easyJet.

TheBirdintheCave · 17/01/2023 15:47

I do everything separately and co-ordinate it on an Excel spreadsheet 🤓

Yarrawonga · 17/01/2023 15:47

Book it all separately. We don’t always want to fly or go abroad.

whatyoulookingfor · 17/01/2023 15:48

Download the app Holiday Pirates. I've been using them for years and they are brilliant.

VickyEadieofThigh · 17/01/2023 15:56

We always book as a package, having seen every single episode of 'Rip off Britain: holidays', which has regular features on how you're not protected fully if you buy flights and acommodation separately.

MissingMoominMamma · 17/01/2023 15:57

I book it all separately. I have travel insurance.

Datgal · 17/01/2023 16:04

Hmm. I always used to book separately. Until the pandemic. When basically airlines etc (I'm looking at you ryanair, but they certainly weren't alone) could do as they pleased. Having insurance meant eff all. As they just told me it was the airline who was responsible- take it up with them. No recourse, nothing. So having insurance doesn't always mean you're covered for things like airlines choosing to fly when govt tells you not to.
Anyway, it's put me off booking everything separately. And I always used to.
But yes, worth checking Skyscanner etc, as can work out cheaper etc. Depends where you want to go.

sunseaandme · 17/01/2023 16:07

Jet 2

Lcb123 · 17/01/2023 16:07

Usually direct with airline (after browsing SkyScanner) or via Expedia. Booking.com for accommodation. Only been on 1 package holiday which I immediately regretted.

IDontWantToBeAPie · 17/01/2023 17:54

Expedia.
After LoveHolidays fucked us over.

TizerorFizz · 17/01/2023 18:09

There’s a lot of misunderstanding about what a package holiday actually. Certain elements must be included but not everything. You don’t have to use their recommended hotels. Holiday companies can usually book others you prefer. We tend to tour but get the travel company to do all the legwork on internal
flights and car hire for example.

If the flight is cancelled your insurance won’t pay for your hotel costs just because you didn’t show up. Your hotel made the room available to you. A package holiday is treated differently and they are responsible for the whole of the holiday.

Yarrawonga · 17/01/2023 18:40

Some will, some won’t. You would need to check the inclusions and exclusions of the individual policy.

chipsandpeas · 17/01/2023 18:45

depends on where im going, sometimes ill book with jet2 and tui or sometimes i will book it diy

AnnaMagnani · 17/01/2023 18:51

Book it all separately (for some holidays this needs a spreadsheet).

For the holidays we like this comes in 1000s less than the equivalent package.

snowsilver · 17/01/2023 18:54

Uk holidays- Booking. Com.
Abroad Jet2.
Ive booked flight / hotel separately in the past but 99% of the time it's cheaper in a package.
Just booked a week in a 5* hotel in the best room. Cost with Jet2 from Leeds £2200.
Cost direct with hotel £2400 plus flights on top.
Plus I had a problem on a holiday once at Jet2 were great.

BethDuttonsTwin · 17/01/2023 18:54

I do it all myself. I really enjoy it 😊

NumberTheory · 17/01/2023 19:01

Book everything separately. Flights on airline website. Hotels on hotel website. Try never to use a third party now except AirBnB. The few times I have used something like Expedia to book I’ve had issues with provision not matching what I thought I’d booked - things changed at the last minute, service charges added, etc.

phoenixrosehere · 17/01/2023 19:18

Book it separa

Hoppinggreen · 17/01/2023 19:32

I do it myself or use an independent agent

Mum2jenny · 17/01/2023 19:33

Generally a combo of Jet2 and booking.com.
