Radio presenter calling all Emma’s evil in the 90’s

AIBU to remember a radio DJ, possibly Chris Moyles or similar launching a campaign in the late 90’s calling all Emma’s evil?
As a teenager with low self esteem, and the name, it massively effected me, increasing my self loathing.
AIBU to think that person needs calling out for it, even after all these years to apologise, they certainly wouldn’t think it was OK nowadays

I met Mark and Lard and you will be pleased to know I found them both lovely and very funny IRL. Loved them so much I was very starstruck. I have their autograph somewhere.

It's time this particular sort of prejudice was criminalised, in the same way that Ageism/Mysogynism/any other 'ism' is.

It was Chris Moyles. I worked with an evil Emma at the time and found it funny. He is a total dick though. Very insecure, needy man.

I’m another one who knows an evil Emma, but I also know an evil Justine and an incredibly evil Ali. Some women are vile, but most Emmas I know are far from it.

Weirdly, I've never known an Emma who wasn't a horrible person! Still not a nice campaign though, it's not like being called Emma is what does it, same with Karen these days - I know one and she is the exact opposite of the stereotype that's been created. Just weird how people try to define others by their names!

I knew an evil Emma in the 90s at school. I saw her at her workplace once, years later, she looked very sheepish.

The only reason why Emma might get a negative rep is surely because it's one of most common names in the country. If Persephone was as common as Emma, then people would be saying they don't like that name because they knew two horrible Persephones at school etc.

That said, Chris Moyles seems like a misogynist twat.

He always was a misogynistic prick and a bully. I couldn’t stand him. My 16 year old had the measure of him within 5 minutes on I’m a Celeb, she’s messaged me and said, “Getting bad vibes about Chris. Seems like a creepy old twat”. Correct.
