AIBU to want boots that fit my wide calves? 👢

That's it really! I'm a size 18 with big legs. I recently bought a dress that would be lovely with long boots (boots that go to below the knee, so basically not ankle boots)! But none fit over my calves. Any suggestions?

Oxendales and DuoBoots for everyday/fancy wear.

Jileon for wellies.

Fuller fillies do a version of the suede "country boot".

It is fucking annoying and it has nothing to do with weight, and everything to do with calf muscle so you're both thick as shit and very rude @Raspberry290 - and you're a MH nurse? Three times a week, 9-5? Lot of time to spend trolling online.

I got some from Evans - not too expensive and last ok.

You're a cunt.

You're also incredibly stupid.

I have reported you, as this comment is clearly offensive. Do you know anything about me other than that I need wide calf boots? Does it make you feel better to be nasty to blank strangers in an anonymous forum?

Hotter. Or Joules do adjustable wellies.

As for the insults...well... there is always one.

Nolosomi · 14/01/2023 09:00

@Raspberry290 what a horrible place your tiny mind must be. Shame you’ll never escape from it. Losing weight will never help you.

XelaM · 14/01/2023 09:00

Evans do large size cheap boots/shoes

Lysianthus · 14/01/2023 09:01

@oxymomon Having seen some of their other comments, even nastier ones if you can believe it, I have reported too.
Anyroad, I have wider calves too! Useful thread so thank you for starting it. I had great M&S wide boots but they stopped doing them so I'm on the look out too.

Thank you 🙏. In my view, this person's account should be deactivated. It seems they are here purely to insult others. MN should be a supportive community and not a hang out for trolls. If I'd wanted to be trolled, I'd have gone to Twitter 🤣

I'd second evans- my sister bought boots from there and she liked them so much she bought a second pair in the same style.

NashvilleQueen · 14/01/2023 09:06

Perfect trolling. Walk in to someone's innocuous thread. Say something incendiary to derail so it's now all about you and then sit back and enjoy your work.

You are a dick Raspberry290

Thismummyrunstheshow · 14/01/2023 09:18

Jeeez, I've always had huge calves. For context, I'm a size 12/14 and struggle for boots every time I need to buy them. Not sure weight has any play here

TerrierOrTerror · 14/01/2023 09:21

The weight comment is absolutely awful. I am a size 8/10 but the wide calf fitting boots say from M&S do not do up by about an inch.

tshirthunter · 14/01/2023 09:26

I also have large calves and have now found that I can get into many standard boots as long as they have elastic siding in them, the reason I couldn't for years was I just expected them to zip up but the elastic made it difficult to pull the zip all the way up. So now I zip the boots up while they are scrunched up at the thinner part of my leg then pull them to sit properly if that makes sense? It's been a game changer for me.

I have these. They are really comfy. They aren't as wide as some of the super wide calf fits you can get from the likes of Simply Be but the outside zip opens to make them wider. I've always had issues with calf fitting but these are perfect for me. I tried them on in store but had to order online as they only had brown in my size.

AbreathofFrenchair · 14/01/2023 09:41

You would think with so many people experiencing the same problem, that wider fit would be an option across the whole high street! I have the same problem.

I've got the same problem with my legs and I've found that if m&s and saisnburys sell their knee high boots (leather) then they fit if I go up a size but sometimes look a bit baggy then round the ankle.

Definitely going to look at Duo though

UglyBeauty · 14/01/2023 09:48

Try Duo on Vinted. I’ve seen a few pairs on there. They are lovely quality - measure your calf so you know what size to look for. Hopefully you’ll get a bargain and something that fits!

Stardustkid · 14/01/2023 09:52

New look and ASOS have a few

downnew · 14/01/2023 09:57

I really struggle with this. Tried so many pairs, if they fit round my calves they were too tight on my feet or came up too high. Evans we're okay for my chunky calves, also simply be I think.

Eventually I found some from new look when I'd given up looking. They're slouch style, not quite knee high, and so comfortable. Hadn't expected them to fit because they only have a half zip and they're not specifically for wide legs.

eatdrinkandbemerry · 14/01/2023 10:00

My daughter is actually underweight but has massive calves because she's very athletic 🤷‍♀️
So it's not about weight !

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 14/01/2023 10:09

I got the Hotter Belgravia boots from my DP for Christmas. Wore them yesterday for the first time and they were really comfortable on the calf.

quinceh · 14/01/2023 10:12

I have a similar issue but got some decent boots from M&S recently, about £80

Stardustkid · 14/01/2023 12:17

@downnew I think I have the same ones

Anonymouseposter · 14/01/2023 12:30

I have this problem, although I never buy clothes from Evans their boots fit me. I’m not generally overweight but both my thighs and calves are big. My waist is that of someone two sizes smaller. Jeans can also be tricky to get a good fit. I have some nice boots from Celtic and co with laces up the front that I can adjust.

wickerhearth · 14/01/2023 12:31

Placemarketing, always struggle with this issue as well.😩😩
