I have a friend that loves them and would happily see the same band more than once or see bands she's not a massive fan of. Me on the other hand would only really go if I really liked the singer but i wouldn't be fussed if I missed it either

@Fudgemaker Google my username with the correct spelling, it's the name of an album 😄

hopeishere · 13/01/2023 17:17

No. I've been to some and enjoyed them but don't go often. Last one was 6/7 years ago! Also hate "gigs". Music is always too loud to talk.

CMOTDibbler · 13/01/2023 17:21

Love them. I've been to some terrible ones of course, but last year I went to a stadium gig of a band I know some of the words to 2 songs and recognise about another 4 (out of a 30 year career) and it was start to finish amazing. The atmosphere, being part of a crowd, hearing what the band can really do - all of it works for me

MadameSzyszkoBohusz · 13/01/2023 17:21

I don't like live music. I haven't been to a gig since I was a teenager, and I've never been to a music festival.

I love the theatre, and stand up, and I quite like opera and I can tolerate ballet, but just standing around listening to people play music sounds so incredibly dull to me.

MidnightMeltdown · 13/01/2023 17:25

Not really as I don't like crowds. A festival (with addition of mud, tents, and squalid lavatory facilities) is my idea of hell. Even when I was in my 20s.

Backstreets · 13/01/2023 17:26

absolutely love them but they're taking the piss with these ticket prices lately. it's driven me to see smaller (cheaper) bands which can go many ways, but I generally prefer a more intimate gig. the worst are sitting down gigs and massive stadium things, but I'll brave the latter for the exceptional - seeing Springsteen later this year.

AFS1 · 13/01/2023 17:30

Love them! Small or big, indoor or outdoor. I’ve seen a number of bands and artists multiple times. I’ve travelled abroad for a couple of gigs. I’ve gone to see bands I’m not that fussed about if they’re playing local to me and I’ve often ended up becoming a fan because of the live experience.

My 14 yr old is now getting into going to gigs, so I’ll often take her, unless it’s a band I want to get right down to the front for!

Floralnomad · 13/01/2023 17:35

Love them , but due to health issues I do need access to a seat which does limit who I get to see .

Scarecrowrowboat · 13/01/2023 17:38

Love the idea hate the actual event. I don't like noise or crowds and I get bored of things after 20 min even if I'm really enjoying, i just count down to it being over.

Scarecrowrowboat · 13/01/2023 17:39

Prefer seeing live music at festivals as I can wander off more freely.

liveforsummer · 13/01/2023 17:39

No, too busy and noisy and you only know a handful of the songs 😆. Prefer a festival out in the open with a variety of performers

AmberGer · 13/01/2023 17:39

Love them. Used to go to loads of gigs. But now a ticket for each of us (4 with dh & 2 ds's) costs a fortune.
Wish I could afford to go to more. Haven't been for about 5 years 😔

CeriB82 · 13/01/2023 17:45

hell no.

too many people. I don’t like crowded places.

coffeepleeease · 13/01/2023 20:51

Absolutely love concerts, been to loads over the year, but only one since DD was born 6.5 years ago

BeanCounterBabe · 13/01/2023 21:15

I love them. I’m 48 and still feel so excited by live music. I feel energised for weeks afterwards by a good gig. Pub bands to festival headliners, all good. I mainly avoid stadium gigs as they feel very corporate and soul less. I’ve made exceptions for Muse and Florence and the Machine. Music is very much my thing though. I sing in an a Capella choir that performs regularly.

AuntieMarys · 13/01/2023 21:18

Love them. We go to at least 20 gigs a year

HadEnoughOfBears · 13/01/2023 21:23

KrisAkabusi · 13/01/2023 16:18

Yes. There's nothing better than a live gig. I've seen loads of bands multiple times, and its great when you see someone you're not familiar with and discover you like their music.

I feel exactly the same

OrangePomander · 13/01/2023 21:32

Love them. Either old favourites or new bands to discover. I often joke with the dcs about the great gigs they went to before they were born!

Mammaplanner · 13/01/2023 21:36

Not any more, I wouldn’t be able to enjoy it now for worrying about toilet queues

DillDanding · 13/01/2023 21:39

Went to see a group we love in the summer. It was fab but I would be quite happy to never see another live band. I feel 40 was my personal cut off. My husband forgot this edict and booked the tickets regardless.

AuntieMarys · 13/01/2023 21:43

AuntieMarys · 13/01/2023 21:18

And we are in our 60s.

Isseywith3witchycats · 13/01/2023 21:50

love live music gigs we go from big bands at Manchester arena to small venues and go to motorbike rallies where you get multiple bands over a weekend not well known ones but still good, we are going to Hyde park this year to see guns and roses so that will be the biggest one for this year

RoseMartha · 13/01/2023 21:52

Not really no. I went to a couple of smaller venues years ago, no desire to go now.

Sparklingbrook · 13/01/2023 21:54

I like the idea of going but not the reality. Ticket prices are , I don't like crowds, and all the waiting to get in and the crush on the way out.
Unless you're down the front you're watching the screens.

I went to loads when I was teen/twenties, so don't feel I have missed out. I love to watch from the comfort of my sofa when concerts get shown now.

Wombatbum · 13/01/2023 21:56

I really enjoy it, don’t go that often! Saw Ed Sheeran last year and seeing Lewis Capaldi next week.
