I don't think he's going on strike though, so not sure why his salary comes into it.

It doesn’t, other than the fact that the unions do operate for a certain amount of profit and personal gain (for those leading them, I mean, not just the members.)

Which is why I am not wholly behind the view that if you don’t wholly support every action of the union, you can’t expect support from that union. It isn’t a simple two way process where teachers support the actions of the unions and in turn the unions support teachers. It’s a monetary transaction akin to insurance.
