Ear Defenders would not be any use.

police here now.

I was suggesting them for another poster, not for your situation.

EmmaAgain22 · 01/01/2023 00:26

WhatsApp from neighbour asking me to talk to police.

what a lovely start. Sigh.

Again, are people setting them off in a public street in the pavement?

I am not criticising regular folk, but this is a group who were doing something full on dangerous. It's flats on an A road with a very narrow pavement.

Well not actually in the pavement, but in the back lanes. Hard to explain but our houses are set up like that. So it’s in the lane and some people’s little yards, but we live in a very crammed together area.

Either way I don’t like them.

You can always find a dose of misery on MN.

Vitriolinsanity · 01/01/2023 00:26

I live in a very naice area. The police are presently en route as a neighbour next door but ones rocket hit the house next door!

SharksInTheTea · 01/01/2023 00:27

If it helps, OP I live in a normal street in a rural village and I was woken 30mins back by the sound of them being let off in our street.

Plus one of my neighbours wondering down the street in his socks yelling Happy New Year at the top of his considerably loud voice with a drink in his hand.

Luckily my dog doesn't give a toss for them but I could hear other dogs howling when they were let off.

(As an aside, "chill the fuck out" has to be the most hypocritical phrase ever! Grin)

It used to be nice.

it's an absolute shithole now. I have got to get out of London. I tried last year and it fell through.

Depends on the borough, not all London is bad, which part are you from ?

Vitriolinsanity · 01/01/2023 00:27

But hey, we're chilling the fuck right out.

Hawkins001 · 01/01/2023 00:27

@EmmaAgain22 happy New year

Happy new year!

We set some low noise ones off this year after checking with neighbours. Luckily our neighbours are a sociable bunch 😆 🤣

Lol, and most of the time usually when people get told to chill it usually has the omg don't tell me to chill etc

Vitriolinsanity · 01/01/2023 00:30

I'm sitting in the garden listening to all kinds of hell breaking loose.

soddingspiderseason · 01/01/2023 00:32

My dog is doped up to the eyeballs as she gets incredibly anxious. Must terrify the local foxes/wildlife. Frankly, ban them unless at properly managed displays.

Thought people couldn't afford to run a 5w led light bulb at the moment while sat in the freezing cold as they daren't put the heating on. Got to admire their dedication living on one meal of shops own brand cat food a day since bonfire night so they can afford fireworks for new years

Unananana · 01/01/2023 00:34

So all those that suffer the effects of fireworks are just unsociable? Is that what you are suggesting?

Just. Fucking. Wow.

SuperHandss · 01/01/2023 00:38

Bubblemonkey · 31/12/2022 23:58

Chill the fuck out. It’s once a year.

But it isn’t.

Peacelily38 · 01/01/2023 00:40

Yanbu, people are extremely selfish.

The aggression off you!

SuperHandss · 01/01/2023 00:44

WhatAmIDoingWrong123 · 01/01/2023 00:44

The aggression off you!

Nope, their response is reasonable

Sux2buthen · 01/01/2023 00:47

@dropthevipers phew, thought I was the only one that saw that. Thought I might have imagined it

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 01/01/2023 00:49

WhatAmIDoingWrong123 · 01/01/2023 00:44

The aggression? I'm sorry in what way am I being aggressive? Are you the dickshead letting them off in the street here?

limitededitionbarbie · 01/01/2023 00:50

KnobbyKnobson · 01/01/2023 00:11

You must live in a very rough area.

Maybe not. People in my street letting off fireworks for the street. All the street out to watch.

Hawkins001 · 01/01/2023 00:51

EmmaAgain22 · 01/01/2023 00:26
