To ask if the spa at Centre Parcs is worth it?

DH has a big birthday in a few weeks and after a hectic Christmas and just general life with a toddler we were thinking a spa day or weekend would be just the ticket.

I have heard amazing things about the Aqua Sana spa at Centre Parcs (Longleat closest) but I've just priced it up for an overnight stay and it's £750 for 2 days spa use plus a massage each which seems very expensive.

Could anyone vouch for it?

I would go for lucknam park at that price. But if i'm honest i think spas were a 90's thing before we all had health club membership. Even the expensive ones are a bit tired and dated now. The food is generally awful. And so bloody cold.

LlynTegid · 27/12/2022 19:53

Spa Zuiver near Amsterdam offers more (there are midweek three swimwear days if nudity is not for you), and you can stay at the hotel alongside.

StrawberryWater · 27/12/2022 19:56

Way over priced and not worth it.

You're obviously going to the wrong ones 🤣

Clymene · 27/12/2022 19:57

I wouldn't. They let men into the women's changing rooms.

AliMonkey · 27/12/2022 19:58

The spa is good, but you'd be better off costwise as a day guest at Aqua Sana plus an overnight stay/dinner at a nearby hotel, particularly as you can't use the rest of the CP facilities if on their Spa break. DD and I spent three hours at Aqua Sana (no treatments) so I can see how we could have spent a day there with treatment, lunch, lazing around reading a book, but wouldn't want to do it two consecutive days. Personally I like Nirvana Spa better because it has loads of pools to swim in, but there's not as many "experience rooms" as at Aqua Sana, so depends on what you prefer.

sunnygardenday · 27/12/2022 20:00

I go to the Longleat CP with friends most years. It's expensive, but the nicest spa we have been to, with lots of different rooms. We go for the day and stay at the Premier Inn in Frocester which is 5/10 mins drive away

PurpleFlower1983 · 27/12/2022 20:00

I love the spa there but the treatment I had was mediocre (massage). That’s the truth of it. For that price you can do better.

PurpleFlower1983 · 27/12/2022 20:01

Why not do a CP break then add the spa passes?

Jakadaal · 27/12/2022 20:03

A friend and I booked a spa day with lunch for about £99 each and then booked an air bnb nearby (Whinfell). Cost about £150 each in total

I go to a decent Bannatyne and it's not a patch on somewhere like Rudding Park or aqua sana (only been to sherwood)

That said I would find a good rated spa separate from cp £750 is silly money for what it is

PurpleFlower1983 · 27/12/2022 20:06

It’s great for pregnant ladies, they can go in for £10 but I think you have to be a CP guest.

superdupernova · 27/12/2022 20:15

I wouldn't pay the money to stay overnight but the spa days are absolutely worth it. I go to the one at Woburn and it's huge. It only costs about £40 more than the local Champneys one but the facilities are much more extensive.

Hadtochangeforthisone · 27/12/2022 20:27

No. Absolutely NOT worth it !! Get an Airbnb with a private hot tub ..
Can I say more 😉

Hadtochangeforthisone · 27/12/2022 20:28

At a third of the price !!!

Nameneeded · 27/12/2022 20:28

Definitely not worth it. It’s a similar price to far better spas.

worstusernameeverx2 · 27/12/2022 20:29

I found the spa so underwhelming, I've been to much better spas for much cheaper

TaraRhu · 27/12/2022 20:32

I thought it was really good. Much nicer than the rest of the resort which is overpriced. Wasn't expecting much but it was probably one of the best spas I've been to. You can spend hours in it. The rest of Center parcs was on a par with a premier inn to be honest. But the spa was good.

gogohmm · 27/12/2022 20:39

Just booked the Buxton crescent for less than that including full board!

Vickim03 · 27/12/2022 20:44

I’d book a weekend at Charlton house. Itl be less busy and the food and spa there are lovely. Not as big as centre parcs but much quieter and more relaxing. We live near longleat and have done both.

Rainbowhoney · 27/12/2022 20:49

If your looking for a break you can take the toddler along to, look into luxury family hotels, they have spas and a creshe and play rooms and even provide baby monitors so you can go to dinner after putting the littles to bed!

cantba · 27/12/2022 21:31

Yes probably! I was very much into spas a decade or so ago. Very underwhelmed with everywhere i have been to post covid. Thermae spa at bath was shocking- cold and dirty. I used to love calcot and cowley but found them pretty underwhelming too.

Tayegete · 27/12/2022 22:00

Went to Woburn a few years back and it was amazing, so many different spa rooms and a properly luxurious apartment. I loved it. Sadly we are not in a place where we can justify spending that much now so it depends on your budget but I loved it. Not sure if Longleat is as good though.

Showdogworkingdog · 27/12/2022 23:03

I always enjoy a spa session when we go to Center Parcs. It’s a lovely space but not somewhere to relax, there’s always groups wandering around, chatting, laughing, having a great time…I constantly have to remind myself not to be irritated by that whenever I visit. For £750 I’d expect more.
