Wow, Fortnum & Mason's is obscenely £££, £10.50 for a single 3inch hollow nutcracker chocolate.

I knew it was bad, but I wasn't expecting it to be that bad. I went in to see if I could get a £10 Christmassy chocolate gift. Something smallish but nicely packaged. It appears even the smallest boxes are arout £18/19. Not worth it in my opinion. Perhaps they're recouping their carpet cleaning costs after the Just Stop Oil demos recently...🤔

I've just done the Christmas shop in Aldi. It was carnage. I imagine F&M would have been a far more pleasant experience. Just a shame my entire budget would have been blown on a couple of tubes of biscuits and a box of tea bags.....

I was in F&M a couple of days ago. The food hall was very busy, but mostly with very nice old men in suits being terribly polite to the staff.

Fortnum’s is an overpriced, overrated tourist trap. Always has been, always will be.

If only I had the money. Aldi contained some people being appallingly rude to staff, but it was mostly just too many weary people shopping in a stressful, untidy atmosphere. I live within 40 miles of a Booth's. I imagine that would be a lovely place to do a Christmas shop too. But I can't afford them either, although I do have a copy of their beautiful Christmas book.
